Not impressed with rfc at all!!

No offense Funball but you are the reason they can get away with this. When they have a 30 minute wait at 4pm they don't need to give APs a discount to fill the seats.


However I agree if a perk of the pass is a dining discount it should be a blanket policy for all of DLR. It follows the KISS principle that every marketing department should know and use.

RFC is worth it if you order the salads or the burgers, IMHO. Anything else and you're taking a risk. But we've been really satisfied with the burgers there, 10x better than the burgers in the parks.

I totally agree that Taste Pilots has the BEST burgers..yummmmm!!! I also agree that our experiences with RFC were mixed. The service was indeed..bad!!! But, I have always found that the food was great. Everyone at our table always leaves satisfied with the food. However, on this trip we are trying some different places in DTD.

It's one of son's favorites. Escpially the fish tanks.
I agree - try it out. It's mostly for the experience rather than the food.
I love the banan dessert, forget the name maybe Banana Foster?, it's warm crepes, sliced banana, whip cream & a caramel topping. Yummy - we'll be there in 10 days and plan to eat once at DTD and maybe once in Vegas.

I agree, I do feel that every shop, be it a restaurant or a store, in DTD should offer a discount to those who have AP's, especially the Premiums.

Well it’s not just that p-wings, but you would think that they would give a discount; after all, they are on Disney property selling their own services.but that is not the point here. My point I was trying to make was, I sat at the bar, had terrible appetizer and I honesty don’t see myself going back.

And frankly, wine country trattoria serves better appetizers then I got last night… let alone TPG does have the best burgers in all of DLR!

Wow, I am in the minority here, I see absolutely no reason restaurants or stoes need to give AP discounts. Using this logic then the designated "Good Neighbor" hotels/motels should give discounts too. I believe HoJo may be the only one offer this discount.

HOJO is not the only one that does the good neighbor discount,

and maybe i worded my sentence wrong.. but i feel that if you are going to sell your good in your own store in DTD, and pay rent to remain there to disneyland on there property, then by all means they should at least offer the AP discount..sephora, that is the only store that does not offer an AP discount, i don't mind it at all.

But i was just surprised that RFC doesn't offer an ap discount all day like the other restaraunts. I don't expect the discount, but sometimes it's nice to save $2.00 here and there.

but i my other point was that my appetizer was not worth the $9.00 i paid for it..I AM a penny pincher and i like my discounts..and yes i love coupons also!! ♥

We loved Rainforest Cafe. Kids kept asking to go back for our entire trip. We stayed in Anaheim for 9 days and probably ate at RFC about 5 times

In fact as soon as the kids found out we were going back the first request was RFC

I found the food good most of the time. There were some things that weren't great (anything with that fake cheese stuff on it) but mostly it was pretty good. Lettuce wraps are amazing - and enough on the plate for a few people.

Funball I don't like the appey you had either, we did really enjoy the quesadilla tho, it's very good, and there's another dip appey, the spinach dip, that's really good, but the chips and queso is not very good at all, we only had that once and never again, the girls didn't even like that one.
I agree with you 100%, I think every shop and restaurant in DTD should offer a discount to AP holders, but they don't have to do so if they don't want to and that's what sucks. LOL

We ate there July 26th & nobody was thrilled with their meal. The service was very good & our waiter was awesome....but other than that....not so great. The first time we went in 08 it was very, very good. When we went in 09 it was hit & miss on everyone's plates.....this year it was just plain bad & for that kind of money....you would expect a decent meal. We probably have eaten there for the last time.

We've been there 3 or 4 times in the past year because it's DDs favorite restaurant, they LOVE the thunderstorms, but the food has gotten progressively worse. I've been burning into the girls' heads that we won't be going in a few weeks, hopefully there won't be any meltdowns.

maybe i just got a bad appetizer..but frankly i would not comment on food from somewhere unless i, A: it was bad or b: loved it soo much..to me what i had IMO was not that great. BUt what do i know.. i am now seeing that alot of people love RFC, but they got like full on meals i had a appetizer--hmm who knows, i just hope that i wasn't the only one that felt this way about that general location...i also remember that in the past-years ago they used to be really good.

aww thanks p-wings! and dizneedoll! i really appreciate what you guys said, now that i think about it, maybe i should of gotten something else besides the cheese dip and i soo was going to do the spinach dip--i knew i should of gone with my first feeling..but like dizneedoll said i guess i am not the only one that feels that way. and it's good to know..now about the discount thing p-wings. its sucks they dont do it all day at RFC(give the discount) but it doesn't matter to me i won't be going back ...and like i said sephora doesn't give a discount but i do keep going back to that store!!

It wouldn't matter what you ordered, all the food is crap. They mess up even simple stuff like hamburgers and french fries.

Yikes! Some of these reviews definitely reflect much different experiences than the ones I've had at RFC in DTD. I haven't been there since late last year, but my friends and I went there a few times. We ordered burgers, fries, and mixed drinks and have always enjoyed our meals there. Service was great, too. We've gone at lunch time, though, so perhaps it's better at that time or things have changed there quite a bit this year.

I hate RFC. It's loud and sticky and dirty and overpriced. The kids' chicken nuggets are the factory formed dinosaur ones you can find in any grocery store freezer. When my family insists on it I just get a drink.

I don't condone stiffing your servers except in the very worst of service circumstances but that's a personal prerogative, I guess. I also don't think I'd feel I had an entitlement to an AP discount anywhere on Disney property.
