hi girls /guyes

i hope this is not a too silly question but it is a concern of mine. ok well i booked the gardern room at the boardwalk so that me,bridal party moms and grandmoms can get ready the morning of. my wedding starts at 2:30 but carolynn and beaute are coming at 7 am becouse there is so much to do. so what did you all do for breakfast? can you take in. is it silly to go to like dunkin or the supermarket and put in fridge? any suggestions or ideas of what you did??

thanks

Not sure about food but what is the garden room? I am getting married at the boardwalk and we have 8 people to get their hair done...so we need all the space!

That's actually a pretty good question. Our wedding is at 9 am, so we will have this same dilemma. I have thought about getting some stuff at the Goodings grocery store in the Crossroads or possibly having some things delivered through this site http://www.gardengrocer.com/. I've never used the grocery delivery, but I have heard good things about it. I guess it depends if you're renting a car or not. We're going to have a car, so I might just go to the Crossroads.

Isn't there now a minimum food/bev expenditure for getting ready rooms? I know they have different getting ready platters that they offer with fruit, pastries etc. that will be delivered to the room. I would ask your planner for the menu... it might be worth it to save time and then you can have it added to your beo ahead of time and not worry too much about it before hand.

We also had the garden suite for getting ready. We didn't prepare ahead of time for food, but I have a few suggestions.
I believe it is still the case that you have concierge lounge access. My three bridesmaids and I went to the concierge the morning of our wedding to grab some snacks and drinks.
If you would rather have food in the room, room service/private dining does party platters, like fruit and cold cuts. I recommend calling private dining the day before to place your order. They could likely do a custom platter for you as well.

Out of curiosity what places are available for getting ready rooms? How much do these typically cost, does anyone know the different options?

When the OP said the garden room I misunderstood, I thought she meant one of the ballrooms. You can rent a convention/ball room for getting ready in so you have a big space. It used to be free and based on if there was room available but I believe now there is a charge to use one. I am not sure of the exact details as we will have a suite but I think the cost is around $500??? Perhaps someone has more details.

first i live in florida and goodings is very overpriced if you go a little ways down from there. there is a dunkin doungnuts if you are looking for that kind of food. if not gooding is good quality so go for it. as for having thigs deliverd i hear that you can not have outside food delivered on property? is that right?

We didn’t book a room because we had our hair done at the ivy trellis ....but i had my Parents pick up bagels/coffee/juice/champagne from Panera Bread the night before.....we kind of took over one of the balconies/terraces at the GF before hair and makeup....

So they don’t mind if you bring stuff in....
also the garden grocer works great when having food derived to the hotel room

Oh having extra bottled water really helped during the day as well

What are these platters of food, your talking about? Do you get that from room service?

I have booked at the BW, a Garden Suite? From what I can tell its two stories, with a king bed and bath upstairs and a small kitchen and living room down stairs and thats where Im getting ready. Its just my mom and I so we don't need a ton of space, but my dress sure needs room. Its got the pricess poof thing going on.:)

oo janell that sounds rally nice. it sounds like alot of room and a happy place to get ready. i am glad i booked it. i

Thanks. My mom found it on the internet. She keep telling me I would want room to move in my dress and I had no idea what she was talking about till I went to try on dress and then I was like so this was what you were talking about.:)

sunsh1ne, what you booked sounds great too. Hving a couple of bed rooms is nice. I love the BW. Are you staying at the BW the night of your wedding? I ask because I have asked Randy to come back with us after the reception to get photos of DF and I. Were not seeing each other before and I love the WB so much that I want formal photos taken there.

How long are you keeping your suite? We are keeping it 4 nights. Due to the MK photos shoot two days after the wedding, I wanted to keep it a few extra nights so I could have room to get ready all over again.

We also stayed in a garden suite for our wedding. There was plenty of room for me, MOH and my Mom to get ready. We ordered room service to deliver pizza while we got ready. They could also deliver breakfast for you.

Not sure what you garden room is with 4 beds and 2 bathrooms. The garden suites have a king and a pull out couch with a bathroom upstairs and a 1/2 bath downstairs. I believe prices start around $585 now.

The Garden Suites at the Boardwalk are fabulous! We stayed in one for part of our honeymoon.

I got ready in a DVC Grand Villa at the Boardwalk. The original plan for food was to order some room service, but in the end (and at my planners suggestion) my dad just went down to the Boardwalk bakery the morning of the wedding. He brought back some assorted pastries. It worked out well for us.

Just fyi the "getting ready rooms" in the convention center have a $500 price tag now and a min per person food order. The garden suite is a suite at the Boardwalk Inn which has a private entrance or courtyard entrance as they like to call it, and is a 2 level loft with a seating area, 2 bathrooms (one with a jacuzzi) and a king bed. it is "conceirge" level.

We used the garden suite and it was waaaay more than spacious. Our photographer and videopgrapher had a ball there as well because it is so pic perfect for getting ready shots. The bedroon is a loft and we hung all the dresses up there for steaming while we all hung out downstairs. We all got changed upstairs as well.

I ordered 2 of the family breakfast platters from Boardwalk room service. It was for 8 people but it was way to much we had like 12 people and alot of food left over! Room service brought it over, set it up, and then we called them to come back and pick it all up again and clean up. it was soooo easy. I think the platters are like $45 for 4 people 9more like for 6) there are different types but ours had eggs, potatoes, pasteries, toast, juice and coffee.

Here are some getting ready I shots i took in the suite just so you can get an idea of how spacious and pretty it is...
