We won't be having the Dining Plan so I am wondering if we will still have to pay for our 3 year old little boy or will he be able to eat from our meal?
I'm not sure if this is where I'm supposed to ask this or not. Thank you in advance.

I can't think of a restaurant on property where you would necessarily pay for a 3 year old to eat from your meal. Obviously, quick service doesn't charge by the head -- you would just pay for what you order. For table service where you pay for what you order, again, you just pay for what you order. For table service that charges by the head USUALLY 3 and under are considered guests of Mickey. Usually these are buffet or family style where the 3yo could eat whatever they want. The one exception I can think of are dining packages where you pay a price per head, but it's not buffet/family style (for instance, the Fantasmic dining package). In that case, the CM will usually say that the 3yo can either eat off your plate, or you can pay the child price for them.

Quick Service you can eat any way you want. We often share meals, order sides or even adults order kids' meals.

Table Service where you order ala carte off a menu you can also pretty much order what you want. He can share your food, he can order just a side or appetizer.

Character Meals, Buffet and All You Can Eat he will have to pay. Eating free is only for those UNDER the age of 3. Once he turned 3 he has to pay at those meals. That would be like Chef Mickey, Hoop Dee Doo, Cinderella, Garden Grill etc.

It's just like he has to buy a park ticket now ... he has to pay for DP or any prix fixe meal.

It is free for kids under 3 years old. Three and over pay whatever the fixed kids price is including Fantasmic dining package.

We always ordered for ourselves and when my son was 3 or 4 we never felt we had to get him a meal… The only place you would have to pay is character meals or buffets
