Not having a great weekend or Monday

My brother called and came by yesterday which I knew could only mean one thing.... He was activated. I am so so upset about it. My roommate kept saying "Oh how exciting for You" "you must be so happy"

OK WHO in their right mind would be excited to go to war? She's a freaking moron. And it didnt help me at all. I am such a mess which is totally ridiculous because for right now hes only going to San Diego but he said he'd be gone at least for a year and could possibly go obviously.

I dont want to sound like a whiner because there are so many peoples families who have gone but thats my baby brother and it freaks me out to think I could lose him... I've had so much loss already in my life...

I hope everything goes well for your brother. I think the people who are out there fighting for our country deserve a lot of credit, but I would be very upset also if someone I was close to was directly involved. Let's hope nothing happens to cause him to be deployed overseas.

I am hoping that your brother will be sent to a stateside base to fill in for active duty Marines being sent to the Middle East. I continue to Pray for Peace. I know you will be doing the same. As a reservist's wife and prior active duty wife, I understand! Dh was told he would be gone for at least a year during Desert Storm. It turned out to be only 4 months.

Oh Preshi...I'm so sorry for the feelings you are having....but try to be very proud of him. He's doing something that not alot of people in this country would even THINK about doing...he's protecting the lives of his loved ones!!! I gringe right now not knowing what is coming up - will my cousins' husbands be called back onto ship duty from shore duty (always a possibility). It indeed is very scary but please know we are here for you!!! I'm very proud to be related to Navy men.....they make us proud to be Americans!!!!

Oh preshi. My heart aches for you.

My brother was drafted into the Vietnam War. I feel your pain, I really do. I don't think I took a deep breath the 2 years he was gone (one year in Vietnam, the next year after in Germany, ready to be called up again if need be.) There is absolutely nothing exciting about it. It's very heart wrenching. {{{{Hugs}}}} It will only be exciting when he comes home. I'll keep him in my prayers until then. {{{{Hugs}}}}
