We were leaving to go down to WOC and I had my hand on the door casing when my youngest pushed the door closed, those villa doors are very heavy..ergo it snapped a couple of fingers. I yet to see WOC because it seems something happens every trip.

Strollers and drunks are our biggest banes. Two of my daughters know where the local ER is very well and I am getting friendly with many at the Anaheim PD. But overall we do love our Disney trips.

I am in agreement with some of your disappointment.

If it was a once in a lifetime, or once a year on vacation, visit to Club 33, I can see that the excitement of the moment might carry one through. But if you have been there regularly over a span of many years--it just isn't what it used to be.

The food is just country club quality and the service is fine, but not spectacular.

And it doesn't feel very upscale when it is packed to the rafters with casually dressed tourists snapping many MANY pictures of everything--the wallpaper, the bathroom, the food on their plates, and more than once the food on mine!

The best part of Club 33 happens when you ring the door bell and are buzzed in. After that it is not all that great.

I realize this opinion will get people riled up. And some will want to ceremoniously rip off my Mickey Ears and point me to the gate, but it is my experience.

Sorry to hear that is your impression and experience. I usually eat with the boss once a month or so at the country club that he goes to and really it is not the same. I have eaten at Ramseys on the Themes, Lugars in NY and many other places and so far Club 33 has been better. I could go once a month to Club33 and I still will have not seen all that is there. I met Walt when I was 9 and spent many hours with him, Lillian and the people at the studios until he passed and I am sure I would still get the creeps when I walk thru the door. To each their own. I feel privledged just be able to go.

I haven't been to Peter Lugar in years... so I don't know if they have slipped as well. And Gordon Ramsey, I am guessing that is to whom you are referring, embarrassed himself by his use of 'boil in bag' food at his restaurants.

Wanted to say, points well taken...He belongs to Pebble Beach we ate there when we were there for the Concours a couple years back, and the one here local, so you probably have. Just my impression of my visits. Some of my past experiences would raise the hair on your neck so I try not to talk about the past because that is what it is. I must admit I did not eat there in the old days so I have no comaprison to what it was and now is. I will stick with any opportunity I can get.

Maybe it's the trend in fine dining as a whole. For my sister's birthday ONCE again we'll be going there. I'm going to ask the waiter for what the chef recommends most from the club. I'll be there this april probably the 4th or the 3rd.

I had a friend who was a self proclaimed wine connoisseur. She once made a comment at our table when she felt her glass was under-filled. Another person at our table who was a true wine connoisseur explained that the pour was actually exactly where it was supposed to be, and explained why. I didn't pay attention to the explanation as I am not into the wines myself.

To get proper oxygenation, a wine glass should really only be filled about 1/3 full. I am assuming they use typical balloon glasses for wine service.

that's fine but with the wine pairing at $50 get a bigger glass.

This was the exact thing I orderd minus the steak for the house specialty one.

They gave us a lobster seviche that was amazing. The duck was ok. The shrimp tasted like pure salt I sent it back and the cheese was so so... this is funny cuz I LOVE cheese. I was in germany 4 hours from the french border and man I LOVE cheese.
The mango sauce was good.
