Not happy with disney dining reservations!!

All I can say it thank goodness I obsessively read these boards!!
I go to DLP in 10 days time. AT the 60 day mark I made my dining reservations and was given confirmation numbers. I had a booking at Walts on Wed 9th April, again with a confirmation number. I just read a thread saying Walts was closed on that day so phoned up to check. Indeed it is closed and my reservation number was not recognised in the system (all my other reservations were still there.) Thanks to the Dis I had a heads up on this and was able to change my Walts and California Grill reservations around still got the same times. The guy on the phone said that what had probably happened was that when I booked at the 60 day mark Walts was due to open that day which is why they took my booking. I am so greatful I was given a heads up on this and was able to change my reservations around, I would not have been happy turning up to a reservation and the place being closed!!

I was trying to book Walts for our first meal on the Tuesday (8th) and they said it was closed on that day and the Wednesday !

was a bit surprised by that which is why I posted it !!!

Strange... They didn't give me a confirmation number when I booked mine... I'll call them tomorrow and see...

When I booked my origional reservations the lady offered confirmation numbers. When I phoned again a few days later to make another reservation I asked for the confirmation number, it was not offered. When I phoned a few minutes ago to check the reservations and made changes again I was not offered confirmation numbers, I asked for them. To be honest I don't think they matter!!

I just can't believe they cancelled my reservation and did not inform me! When I made all my reservations they took my phone number so they did have contact info.

Walts is closed the Tuesday 8th and the Wednesday 9th?? Aww nooo!! I really really REALLY wanted to go there!!

What a relief you posted about that, Cazgal.

Thank goodness you're now sorted, Danauk, I've not heard anyone on here complaining of being let down like this before so hopefully this is a one-off. It is a shame they didn't contact you to let you know.

I've always asked for confirmation numbers ever since we turned up at a restaurant to find another family with a similar sounding name had been seated under our reservation. It doesn't really help though, does it, as they only ever ask for your name when you arrive at the restaurant so it probably wouldn't prevent it happening again! Guess it just makes me feel happier lol!!

We were in dlp a couple of weeks ago now and I made reservations before we left and I was not given a reservation number, and made two bookings. Our reservation was correct for Cafe Mickey, but our Saturday lunch at lucky nugget saloon was not on this system. As we were a party of 12, this was a bit unfortunate as they were very busy. They were fantastic in there however an managed to fit us in upstairs, which was a blessing as it was a lot less busy and we have great character interaction. We would even go to say this was our favourite meal as the food available was gorgeous and will definitely go there next time!

So my advice is make sure you get a number and check your reservations on arrival, to make sure that they have been made correctly!
