I am giving this another try. I came her once, posted and never came back. I am positive I will meet the challenge this time. I plan to not diet but to eat healthier. Of course I will watch my porion size and only eat foods that are good for me. I'm female, 52, 5'7" and NEED to lose 155lbs. The only health issue's I have are related to my weight i'm sure. High blood pressure and siactica. I started my weight lose in full force after returning from a disney trip 1/17/07. While at disney I stayed at the bwv and would walk the entire circle around the lake and lo and behold I didn't have a heart attack:rotfl: . So i guess I have no excuse for not getting on the exercise bike. I'm currently saving for a treadmill. I park at the end of the row when I go shopping. I also now realize I can go to a movie and survive without popcorn smothered in all that buttered. I bring along one of those 100 calorie snack just in case i feel my resolve slipping. Since starting my healthier life style I have lost nine lbs:banana: I have been eating oatmeal for breakfast and cottage cheese w/ lettuce along with a yogurt for lunch. Dinner mostly consist's of chicken and salad or lean cuisine or healthly choice. If I feel the need to snack I grab a 100 cal low fat snack. I drink at least 8 glass's of water per day. I'm sure this time I will reach my goal. I just have a different inner stregth that I havn't had on previous weight lose efforts. Susan

Susan, Welcome back! I really hope you will stick it out here on WISH. For me, WISHers helped me lose 60 lbs a few years ago and now that I had a baby I am starting back needing to do it all again! So I am back too!:cloud9:
It sounds like you are on the right track, and health reasons are very motivating! Just take it day by day and remember that there is always someone here at WISH when you need them!

Susan! I am so glad that you have come back. You have a fantastic attitude and you CAN do this.
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I love that you are looking at this as a healthier lifestyle for you. It is.

Give yourself the opportunity to be successful by making some small attainable goals. Join in on some of the ongoing challenges.

Never give up!

Thanks to all of you for your support. It's nice to have others that understand and are or have been where i'm at now. Susan

Susan, congrats on your 9 pounds that is a great accomplishment!!! I really understand the healthy approach! It is the only one I can use. Learning what my triggers are and trying to listent o my body nad not my mind saying get some junk fast!

THe modifications do something for my spirit and not jsut my body, I walk a little taller and feel a little stronger. A good stretch of the legs today is a reward and not a job!

Enjoy your journey, so glad you came back! You are worth caring for and I am so glad to see you know that today!!!!

Happy SUnday!

Hi, Poohs Pal! I've been here 3 times, but this time I'm determined. We were at WDW at the same time, right across the pond from each other (I was at BCV). I wish I'd known-I should have done more exercise that week, and it certainly would have helped to have a walking buddy. Don't give up-sounds like you're off to a great start.

Welcome back! I'm in the same age range as you and also have high BP. You're off to a good start, so hang in there and post regularly! Have you started a WISH journal? I find that is very helpful to me. You should read some of them, they are very inspirational. Hope to hear more about you! Denise

I'm glad to hear things are going so well for you! It sounds like you are on the right track. I love the 100 Calorie snacks:thumbsup2 I usually keep 3-4 different kinds in a big bowl on top of the fridge and grab one of those if I need a snack. My kids love them too. I don't mind paying a little extra for the built-on portion control, since I totally lack the ability to do it on my own;)

:welcome: back to WISH!!! i just had to say that i know how important having it within yourself is and what a difference it makes. you will make the changes and get healthy for YOU! and your family but for YOU!! because you are so worth it!!

rachie -- i buy portion controlled food for that reason too! i buy the snack size chip bags for my family b/c it helps them learn portions and then we don't have a big bag of chips opened and are eating them so they won't go stale - LOL

Wecome back Susan, I think you have a great attitude and have been adopting a similar one. This group along, with my family and determination has been helping me this go around to a healthy life. I have started with mini-goals to make it easier and doable for me. My first mini-goal is 60 lbs, but once I hit that I have another ready - 60 more. Once I hit that I'll start thinking about another. You have such a great mind set I know you will do this.

Welcome Back!!

Sounds like you have a good plan! Small diet and lifestyle changes can add up fast! :thumbsup2

I've also been here a couple of times- but this time it's different for me too. I have actually started exercising!:cool1: I started on January 13th and I did 10 minutes on my elliptical trainer, I'm not sure how far that was or how many calories I burned- This morning I did 66 minutes, 5.3 miles and burned 719 calories!! I just have a different attitude this time. I have lost 25 pounds since this time last year- I still need to lose a minimum of 30.... probably more like 50 or 60. Not sure exactly where I want to be yet.

Keep up the fantastic attitude and you'll get healthier and lighter!! :thumbsup2

YAHOO!  Great job! Keep up the good work!!! :thumbsup2

Welcome back, Susan!

Sounds like you have a winning attitude! I completely relate to that "different inner strength." Can't really explain what made the difference this time around, but I know there are several others on the WISH threads that are experiencing the same thing. Kudos to you!

Enjoy your journey to a healthier you! :wizard:

Sounds like ME. Susan! Only I have come back to WISH probably a half dozen times. (And WW's a dozen or more times. And Atkins a couple of times.) ::yes::

But it's a new day. And I am starting again with WW.

I hope that it is going well for you (I have not read your entire thread.) :)

Beth

Thanks everyone for all your well wish's and support. I'm still hanging in there. I have been ill and visited the doctor on Monday. While there we talked about dieting. He said he hates to use the word diet but would rather refer to it as healthy eating and change of life style. He also suggested that my whole family "immediate and extended" should choose to have the same attitude as it would be better support:hug: . My family:scared1: happens to be prejudice about overweight people so I choose not to bring up dieting around them. Just yesterday Dsis was telling someone (in front of me) about the time I fell on main street at WDW and how it caused a earthquake for the people underground. Later she said, I hope I didn't hurt your feelings as that wasn't my intent:mad: . But that's ok I have you guy's and that's a pretty good deal. Susan
