Not getting email notifications

I'm not getting notified when someone responds to a thread I have posted on.
I realize that I can check my "User CP" but that's really not convenient when you are doing other things on the computer.
Is it a problem with AOL?
I'd post this on the tech board but last time I did that, it was on Page 3 so fast, no one ever saw or responded to it.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
 
I just sat down at the computer and it looks like I am having the same problem today and I also use AOL. Anybody know what's going on?
 
Email notification isn't working for me either & I'm also an AOL user.
 
I know CAnn had the same problem earlier today. Here's the link. Hopefully something can be found soon.
 

Posted this on the Tech board yesterday - as did several others - and no one is reponding.. Does anyone read that board?

I'm not on aol and I'm having the same problem :confused:
 
Well, at least we know it's not just an AOL problem. Hopefully something will be fixed soon. I miss getting my email alerts. I sometimes don't think to go to the boards and check User Cp.
 
I agree ~ I miss getting the email alerts too! Does anyone know if management has addressed this problem :confused:
 
I already posted this on the Tech Board this morning but I'll post here as well. The WM's <i>are</i> aware of it and are trying to work something out.

The emails are still being sent out by us, the problem is with your ISP's and their spam software starting to block them (Two main ISP's I know this involves are AOL and MSN, but there are others).
 
Speaking only for myself, I know it's not my ISP. For instance, email notifications come through for replies to my 8 threads of photos in "Disney Restaurants", but not from the community section or resorts.

I guess you mean that YOUR email notifications are working.
I am still not getting them and other people aren't either.

I never said you are getting them. I'm saying they are operating properly on this end. Your mail provider is stopping them due to the problems stated above.

Well, I never said they WEREN'T working, just that I am not getting them.
Is there something WE can do about it?

Sure, change your mail from an AOL account to one that will accept mail from our server.

Alex is working on getting AOL and others to stop refusing mail from our server, but I have no way of knowing how long that will take. If I had a better answer, I would give it to you.

As JC said, you can change your email address to something that will accept mail from the DIS mailer.

One choice would be to change your address (in your profile) to your DIS Sponsor email address. That system does work for receiving the notifications.
