Not for this year but... (MNSSHP related)

What week in October is typically the best for this?

We will be switching our time share week next year from late Nov. to sometime in Oct. to do MNSSHP.

We are hoping we'll be able to get the time share for a week in October that is. The sooner we put in for it , the more likely we'll get the week we want.

As much as I'd *adore* going on actual Halloween, I would be so worried about it selling out, or park closing to capacity, as we'll be staying off site.

Can anyone give me any info on when is good to go?

Thanks!
Sheri

Here are the 2004 dates of MNSSHP
Code:
October
M T W T F S S
                1 3
                8
    12 14 17
        20 22 24
    26 28 29 31
Our experience has been that Oct 31 and Friday nights are the busiest.

A week or two before Halloween (Oct 17 - Oct 31) will give you the most options. Remember, MNSSHP is a specially ticketed event. The park is only open to guests who purchase the special event ticket. Tickets went on sale May 1 this year and Oct31 sold out last week (Aug 25th??).

Is there a particular week in October that is more/less crowded.

We're thinking about the week before Halloween, and then when our week at the timeshare is up, maybe staying onsite somewhere for a few days through mid week.

If you're talking about WDW in general, the last two weeks of October are usually more busy. Typically, all WDW resorts will be sold out during this time.

There is a PGA golf tournament, FUNAI Classic, at WDW during the third week of October. In past years, the Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT would start the last week of October. This year the starting date has moved up to Oct 1 and runs through mid-November.

But, even though the resorts are sold out, the park attendance is still very reasonable. The number of local Florida attendees is low.

Early October is less crowded for MNSSHP (& WDW in general) than late October.

Thanks all.

How far in advance should I book if I want to get a resort stay for a few days?

Our condo would go until 10/29 and we'd probably want to move onsite for 10/30-11/3

I'm hoping there will be some AP rates but I don't want to hold off on booking if you all think the resorts will be sold out.
