Not Excited about BLT, help!

Just returned from a week at BLT and we loved it. Eight people, four generations. Had a two bedroom. I was concerned about sleeping on the fold out bed but it was very comfortable, not like any other I have slept on. The furniture was ok and the room was very clean.

We had a MK view and watched the fireworks every night from our balcony. No crowds, very enjoyable. Walked to Mk and back. Short walk to the main hotel. Everyone from the 80 something gg to the 2 year old loved it.

The Top of the World lounge has a great 7 layer chocolate cake. We went there a couple of evenings and just enjoyed the view.

We have stayed in at least 10 different Disney properties and BLT is one of our favorites.

I am so glad to hear the chocolate cake is back- we had it a couple of years ago but the last times we have visited it was off the menu. Now if they would bring back the BLT flatbread.

Our stay at BLT during Christmas week is our families all time favorite DVC stay!!! So much so we want to buy there now because now we are having a hard time getting back in!!! The sleek modern style in the rooms and tower pleased our family. Loved our view of Bay Lake but equally loved going out to easily sneak a peak at MK. The kids loved watching the water pageant nightly from our balcony. We all loved being connected to the CR with its monorail and easy to get drink station and cafe. Being able to watch the fireworks nightly from your resort without having to fight the crowds was amazing theming to us!! LOL!! By staying at BLT, we felt like we were staying at MK, you are so close and it felt VERY WALT DISNEY like!! Enjoy! Hope you really like it!!

I was never fond of the Contemporary and bought BLT strictly based on being able to walk to MK. I didn't really expect to like BLT but I've grown to enjoy the one and two bedroom, lake view, options. Give it a chance. I think you'll enjoy it.

I am so glad to hear the chocolate cake is back- we had it a couple of years ago but the last times we have visited it was off the menu. Now if they would bring back the BLT flatbread.

The Flatbread has been back for a few weeks now!

I didn't think I would like it either but really enjoyed our recent, first stay there! My favorite is still BW but I would def stay at BLT again. The convenience to MK & Top of the world lounge can't be beat for MK visits.

What people don't understand is that the Contemporary IS classic WDW, along with the Poly. Even more so than the newer "themed" resorts like YC, BC, BW, WL, etc. As a kid at eight years old in 1974, I knew the Contemporary was THE place to be.

BLT is an extension of CR. As an adult, I own contracts at BLT and at VGC (at DLR).

Go and enjoy one of the best resorts in all of Disney. It doesn't get more Disney than that!

So true. DVC has added a ton of artwork to BLT that is definitely Disney themed with a modern twist.

And I think being able to walk to MK is a big plus. After staying at VGF, I appreciated this ability even more. Otherwise I didn't notice any transportation differences between GF and BLT.
