How do you get past the feeling that there won't be enough time to see everything you want to see? I'm so overwhelmed with planning and wanting to make sure my kids have the trip of a lifetime. I'm starting to feel sad because there is so much we'll miss given our time & financial constraints. We will likely be going back, but probably not for a couple of years. Our main focus is to see all the younger kid stuff this time, since our kids are still pretty young (8,6&4) and it's their first time. Next time we'll tackle the more exciting rides.

I've got a rough list of what I want to see/do and I'm not putting on too much because I don't want to feel pressured to see everything on the list.

How do you get past this?

I think you have to remember that regardless if you get to see everything and do everything you kids are going to have a great trip. There is no possible way to do EVERYTHING. Maybe you should put a star by the most important things on your list. That way if time is an issue, hopefully you will have done the most important ones on the list.

I kinda felt that way when planning our trip last year. But I soon realized that the children were going to have a wonderful trip because we were at WDW!!!

I bought the kids the Birbaums Kids Guide to WDW and let them read about everything before we got there. I had each of them make a list of the 1-2 things they most wanted to do and I made sure we did those things first.

I would have loved to see Fantasmic last summer, but we didn't do it. Time ran out, that doesn't mean our trip was ruined, just that we were busy having fun doing other things.

Planning the trip can be very overwhelming. So can getting to the parks with plans. I think if you have a guideline of what you want to do and realistic expectations of what you'll be able to do - they the fun will happen!

We are only do one character meal and with 5 kids 10 & under we do not plan alot of sit-down meals. To some people that is important, but we would rather grab and burger & fries and spend time riding rides and seeing shows.

Just relax and the "magic" will happen:D

You have to make it your family goal to have as much fun as possible......which isn't the same as doing as much as possible.

We were there in April, and when I think about how many attractions we missed, I can't believe it. Because we had such a good time, it didn't feel as though we were missing anything!

And when we go back we have many things to look forward to that we didn't get to this time.

I had so much more fun relaxing and allowing ourselves to enjoy whatever we were doing, rather than racing off to the next attraction and missing all the wonderful things along the way.

There are too many sights and sounds and thrills etc to take it all in, in one trip. Kids get sensory overload after just a day or two.

They aren't going to remember 30 rides, they are going to remember the one or two that were the most fun.

They are going to remember the things you can't plan ahead for.....the family is going to take their cues from you. If you plan to relax and have fun, they will too.

There's not enough time to see everything you want to do....but even if you only had one day...you could have a magical time.

first off take a deep breath and think to youself how lucky you are to be taking your three children to one of the most magical places on earth and that if you are not stressing about trying to see everything neither will your kids...i know its hard especially after reading all the wonderful thing there are on these boards but believe me if you try and go commando stlye and just see as much as you possible can you will be missing the magic. hope you have a wonderful trip

I remember a thread that was for "first timers" after they came back and what they would change about their first time if they could. Almost 100% of them said they would take allot more time relaxing, it's a tough thing when there's so much to do.

Thanks karemore, I needed all that. But GEEEEEEEE couldn't I have the first hour or two of EMH!!! PLEASE, THEN I'll calm down!!! LOL
