Not Disney but I'll Take It!!!!

So I'm sure most of you remember me whining about not being able to take a vacation this year due to car repairs. Well we jut got an invite to my cousin's wedding and DH has agreed we can go to Monterey Bay Aquarium the day after the wedding!!!! I'm so excited to being going somewhere for a vacation. Yes it will only be for a weekend, but yay!!!! I'm super excited! DS #1 is getting into animals, so I know he will love it!

The aquarium is tons of fun!! We had passes for a couple of years, we loved it.

The Aquarium is so lovely. Its a great place to let a little one walk around. Plus they have a GREAT splash play area upstairs for kiddos. And I loved discretely nursing my infant in the back of the room with the HUGE tank. It was dark in there and very relaxing. I would recommend getting your ticket ahead of time. We had to wait outside in a long line, and could have avoided that by buying our passed in advance (through their website, I believe).

If you have any extra time to fill, your toddler might enjoy the Dennis the Menace Playground. Its a great little park, within driving distance to the Aquarium. They have some different things than the parks around our house, and its free!

Oh yes, Dennis the Menace Playground is an absolute favorite of our granddaughter's. We take her there every time she visits, and she has a ball. You can also rent paddle boats on Lake El Estero.

You may also enjoy tidepooling along Asilomar Drive. And Point Lobos is a great place to do some hiking and burn off some energy.
