Wondering if anyone has ever gone to the Pirates Dinner Adventure in Orlando? I have a special needs son that is very into pirates. We have DS11, DS9--pirate lover, DD6 and DS2. Is this really a good family place? How is the food? Any reviews would be great! Thanks! We normally don't leave WDW once we are "home" but thought we might do this for him this trip.

We went a few years ago - due to it being discounted with our package and for us (2 adults and two girls aged 15) it was a waste of time!! We had been to Arabian Nights and Mediaval Times both of which we enjoyed but this one didnt do anything for any of us - where we were allocated seats we couldnt see much due to 'rigging' and other things. We didnt hear much and the food was awful!! Sorry about the lousy review but everyone has their different opions and views on things - if your children are into pirates they may love it!!!
Happy holidays anyway

Our kids loved this one, they were around 11 and 14. Bright, colourful, the show moved really fast. They even took the kids near the end of the show, put them in costume and gave them a small role to play. It made for great pictures. I really don't remember the food one way or the other so I can safely assume we thought it was ok. We prefered to Medieval Times but then again, our knight never won one competition, lol

Horrible! We went for son's 8th birthday and have done Medieval Times multiple times in the past. The food was abslutely inedible when we were there. I had heard they would call out the bdays, so when I made the reservation, again when we picked up the tickets at the door, and again when seated, I told them about ds birthday. They read the bdays..........did not have my ds.......he was soooo disappointed. They also came out into the audience to get kids for part of the show and did not pick him. I left the show to go find the manager, I was so upset. This was a special thing for his bday, his whole bday was pirate-themed..........had I known about the GF pirate adventure, Id've done that instead. Anyway, to her credit, she did come and tell our server that he was to go on the boat for the next audience participation.........then when it was time they did not come get him as she had said they would, but she had come out to be sure and took him herself up to the boat and told them he was to be included........she also gave him a toy sword, so it ended well, but only because I took the initiative to go find the manager and throw a fit! Between that and the food, I wouldn't do it again. The show was pretty cute, but no way can they include all the kids, and by including only some there were a lot of disappointed kids who didn't get to participate.

Just edited to say, I think your kids would love the Pirate Cruise or whatever they call it at the Grand Floridian. Adults don't go, so it would even give you a break. If you think your son can do it without you, perhaps he'd be okay with the older sibling along....................I'm afraid he'd be pretty disappointed if he didn't get to participate at the dinner show.

The set looks cool but is too elaborate and detracts from the show. The show itself features mediocre actors with an even worse script. The food - well, it wasn't really recognizable as anything edible. But there was lots of alcohol flowing.
