Not buying tickets until I get there, so no fast passes. Am I crazy?

I don't want to buy tickets until I get there, in case I need to cancel my trip. SO no fastpasses. How bad is this????

Depends on when you're going, which park, how many days, etc etc. I have bought a one day ticket day of and still received some fastpasses. But we also arrived right at rope drop so we could hit a ton of rides first thing in the morning.

Not crazy at all, you just need to set your expectations. You may not be able to do as much as you would versus a planned out trip. I would recommend, once you get your ticket, see if you can get some Fast Passes for any 'must do' rides / experiences.

As long as you know that you might be waiting in long lines or missing some of the top headliners, then no you aren’t crazy. I would be making full use of early morning and/or late evening times to get those rides done if you can’t score day-of FPs.

I think it is totally doable! If you hit rope drop, and just keep checking the app, people cancel and move around their own fast passes all the time. Also if your planning on staying on property take advantage of EMH, you can likely get on a few rides before the wait times get to crazy! Have fun!

A few years ago when I was working at the Disney Store, I would use the free passes I got every 6-months on visits for race weekends. At that time, you could not link those in any way to your account in advance, ergo no advance FP could be obtained. And I still had an amazing time - even without hitting rope drop and going like a madwoman. Of course it probably helps that I'm not allergic to lines, so... :D

It's not crazy, but you will need to be prepared to, possibly, not get hard-to-get rides like FoP, 7DMT and FEA. If you are ok with that, go for it. It's funny, I was actually just thinking about this last night and how, prior to FP+, I never purchased tickets until I was onsite for this very reason.

Nope . .just temper your expectations. A lot of magic to be had at WDW without having to Fast Pass the "biggest" rides.

You might not find fastpasses for the E ticket attractions, but you certainly may secure same day fastpasses for many of the other attrations.

Not sure when you're going, but I was pretty shocked at the amount of people in line to buy tickets at AK at park open. I'd buy them even the day before if you can.

Not crazy at all, we never make FPs any more in advance than the morning while we are on the way to the park. We rarely make more than 1 at a time, usually while standing in line for another ride. We never know what mood we will be in or if we want to ride a ride or sit down or eat or what so we don't like to be tied down. We do often stand in lines, but since we don't have any plans, it's not a big deal.

it depends what is important to you and your travel party. If you are going in Jan or Sept. the lines won't be too bad but any other time of year you will need to set the expectation of waiting in lines, like 3 hours for FoP. All the E-Ticket rides in all parks will have long lines. so no I wouldn't call you crazy, but if you think you are going to wait less than an hour for popular attractions I would just say that's unrealistic...not crazy

I'd buy the tickets either online ahead of time OR at the disney springs guest services the night before (if you can)

Depends on how many people your going with.

2 people, probably get what you want

More than that.. more difficult, but people switch fast passes all the time throughout the days they are there. Just gotta mash that app
