Not busy in May???

I just called and make 6 reservations and ALL my dates and requests were available including Chef Mickeys, California Gill, Boma and Kona Cafe!!!!

If anyone needs ressies call them now as they had everything I asked for - good times too!!!!! and there was plenty of choice!!

If you're calling on your 90 day mark for May, you should get everything you want or mostly, as long as you can be flexible.

However, if you wait a few days or longer, you will be more limited with the more popular places...

Called this morning at 7am, when my 90 day window opened. Got everything on my list for the exact time I wanted. Lets hope the whole vacation goes this smoothly!

Well, I know I called on my 90th day...but, in the evening. I got Chef Mickey's for the times I wanted.

I called a few days later and got CG for the fireworks, but not until later in our trip...the 90 day mark hadnt hit those days yet.

The other places I am going arent on the DDP, so I didnt have a problem.

It's only a pain for the popular and hyped up restaurants...

I hope it's that way this year. We got everything we wanted, except Hollywood Brown Derby from 6:00 - 7:00 pm on 5/1. I booked Jiko as a substitute. We really want HBD though, so I'll be calling daily hoping to get what we want.

I booked all of mine except one (Sanaa-not available to reserve until Monday) today. I even got all the times that I wanted. Boy, was I stoked when I got off the phone!

Tried today to get one changed for May 9th and had nothing available at the restaurant we wanted, the Wave.

Crowds were higher in Jan this year than prior Jan's so I'm anticipating this May to be a bit more crowded than May of last year when we were there. We'll see though.

But, I still dont expect a ton of parents to take their kids out of school for WDW so close to the end of the school year...

well this is my first trip in May - we normally go Sept/Oct or December.

Hopefully its gonna be as quiet as everyone thinks it will!!!!!

I need to feel the sun on my skin - the weather is damn nasty in the UK at the moment!!!!

I called yesterday am also and got everything we wanted within 15 min. It was exciting. I've been waiting for the 90 day window to open. Now I have nothing major to wait for but the trip itself. 89 days to go! Its all I seem to think about.

I called at the 90 day window but not until the evening and got everything to include the storybook dinner and LeCellier for lunch and dinner (for a party of 7). I called back yesterday (2 weeks after my window) and got a lunch seating at LeCellier for a party of 7. The CM was amazed that it was available. Keep in mind that May 10 is Mother's Day, so I wouldn't wait too long to book that one. I've gone in May every year for over 15 years and still find the crowd level to be moderate with the weekends heavier, esp at EPCOT for the concerts. Now that the concerts are limited to weekends only, I think EPCOT will be extra crowded on the weekends during Flower and Garden and it will be very difficult to get a seat for these concerts. When making ADRs, I work harder for them when we are a larger party, but when it's just the 2 of us, I tend to go with the flow and make just my favorite, then backfill later.

I have always had good luck calling the morning of our 10 day window. Only once for an early Dec trip could we not get Le Celliar for any night for dinner during our trip. However, the CP packages opened up BEFORE my 10 day window and was booked because of this. I just wanted a regular ADR, not the package. However, I tried even booking the package with the CM and got nothing for our entire trip. I even called a couple of times before we left to see if anything opened up with no luck.

jrt1176: We stopped going in early Dec and Oct because the kids were missing important stuff in school. We now go in mid to late May becaue our kids are almost done school (we end in early June) and really don't miss much...year is pretty much winding down. It's a great time to go.

Yeah, I get that. My mom would take us out of school to go all the time, so we never cared...just had to make up the week's worth of work!

I'm going May 7-14, which is a Th-Th. I dont expect it to be dead, but I think it will be nice. We have gone during the holidays quite often, so i can deal with anything haha
