Sometimes I do dumb things! I just got off the Fantasy a few weeks ago and didn't book another cruise while onboard. I kept wanting to, but had some things going on ($$) so talked myself out of it. Now all I can do is think about booking my next cruise....I have been busy kicking myself for not booking while onboard. Tell me I'm not the only person who does this! I secretly keep hoping I'll get one of those postcards with the 10% off that I've heard others sometimes get. This was not my first cruise, so I know better. Thanks for letting me vent just a little.

It can be hard to make the difference between things you want VS the things you need.

If you have stuff going on that may require a lot of your money, it may not be the best choice to add more financial engagements to your budget.

The way I see it, you actually made the smart choice. (Smart choice can be a bit painful but in the end, it's for the best...)

Thanks, I agree. However the issue resolved itself and I was worried about nothing. everything happens for a reason, we just don't always know what it is at the moment!

I too made that mistake once, now I always book something and we end up going! Hope you get a 10% coupon!!

I understand. Last year I went on a b2b cruise when they had the policy that you had to book the cruise and go on it with a year from date. As a result, I could have booked on each cruise but decided to only book on 1 because I knew I wouldn't be going on 2 cruises in 1 year. A few months later they changed the policy to 24 months. I had used my obb to book my cruise for the following year but they, then came out for opening day prices for the following year after that and I had no obb to use. I even emailed to explain the situation and I got a phone call back saying too bad.

Well that was unfortunate. I would be very upset. They did sort of make a mess of that change. Glad they changed it back but it doesn't help the people who sailed during that period. Sorry they couldn't make it right for you. I do like the fact that they at least phoned you back instead of an email.

We didn't book another on our first cruise and regretted it about 2 weeks later. I called DCL and asked very politely if we could book another to get the 10% off. They politely said no but about 2 weeks later I got the 10% card in the mail. I don't know if we would have received that anyway or if it had to do with me calling, but I would call anyway to ask. BTW, I'm happy all the financial stuff worked out and happy cruising!

I have booked twice onboard only to cancel as price still so high. Once was during that mess where we had to sail within only 18 months instead of 24 but rule changed back after I gave up and cancelled. I did do a 7 day and a 10 day cruise on Celebrity ships though!

Anyway I take comfort in that no one gets 10% off the Disney cruise i have reserved because it is a date blackout cruise. Otherwise I would feel a comparative failure for not getting the Onboard booking discount.
