Sorry but that commercial kept going thru my head every time I had to sit in a seat. Has anyone else been grossed out by having to sit in a seat where you see what has just gotten out of that seat? OMG a couple of times i did not even want to go on the ride. On a rides like Test Track, RnR and Splash Mountain and the like when you have to wait for the passengers to get off the ride before you can get on and you see the person that's getting out of the seat in which you have to sit - I sometimes get grossed out. If it was not so hot I would wear 2 pairs of underwear. Everyday we sent our park clothes to housekeeping cleaners because ther was no way I was going to pack those shorts in my luggage. Theres a lot of dirty skeevy people out there. I'm not a germ -o-phobe or walk around with kleenex boxes on my feet, but some people really gross me out, then you have to sit in their seat - and its still WARM - YUCK!

Am I the only one???

Please say no........

Im a big clean person..not as much as you..well when im not at home..i want to wash my hands alot..which i do anyways. but hotel beds do gross me out.

I definitley know what you are saying. There are a lot of "different" people that visit WDW. I'm not so grossed out by it though. I don't even pay mind, I guess bc I'm in WDW :D I do wash my hands a lot though. That's my attempt to keep myself as clean as possible.

I think my hands are the least thing. I can't stand having to sit in a seat after a big fat man in too tight shorts and wearing a muscle t shirt with a very hairy back - you know the kind it looks like he put a t shirt on over a sweater?

I also had to get into a seat after a very big woman with a big mole on the back of her leg (I saw it as she exited the ride, which took her a while) - I know they are not catching, but just the thought of sitting in a spot where a big sweaty mole has been was beyond words. My DH knew it grossed me out too and he could not stop laughing at me

On the plane home (5/18/03)........this woman in the next aisle over had a runny nose. she did not have a tissue so she reached over and grabbed the Sky Mall Magazine and let it drip into the magazine. she then closed it and put it back in the magazine holder in front of her.

I feel sorry for the poor ba$tard that picks that up to read. I would have said something but they were French and I was about to puke! I would have told DH but he would have gotten mad at me because I always notice the gross stuff, then he would have puked.

Still not as clean as you think?????????

Ummm, how do you define "skeevy". I think if they were NAKED and had their bare bums on a bare seat, I wouldn't want to sit there. (Polite nudists carry towels to sit on) Now since I know there are no naked people running around WDW, I'm not sure where to go with this.

If someone is on a ride, sure their seat will be warm when they get up because they were sitting there. Your internal body temp is over 95 degrees. Yeah, you sit in one place and there is heat transfer. O well.

Now if someone was wearing shorts and sweating so much they left sweat on the seat, that is something else. But unless it is bare bits or body fluids, I don't have a problem.

As long as there's no body fluids, I couldn't care less about how warm someone left the seat for me...

As far as germs, if you've made it this far in life in a planet where virulence and bacteria travel with the wind, live in the food and water you drink, the phone you spoke on and the doorknob you touched, you should be OK.

Just carry one of those germy towelettes or Lysol spray with you if it helps you feel better but I'd say keeping people from coughing on sneezing on you, washing your hands after you go to the bathroom, before you eat or touch your face is about the most you can do.

Gonga,
I don't want to start anything but I am reading your post and it sounds like you think all "large people" are skeevy. I am "large" but I bath daily and is as normal as anyone else. The only thing is there is a little more of me and I take great offense from your reply (and I don't have any moles on my leg.

thats not what gonga is saying at all..different things bother all of us. She's not saying that she's repulsed by all large people. She said that at that time it did.

If things like that bother you so much perhaps you should avoid public places where there are bound to be lots of people. That might make you happier.
Sometimes I see people that don't live life as I do, but they have just as much right to be on this earth as everyone else.
I try to remember that I can't control other people - only my reaction to them.

Okay, I tried to avoid a post on this one, but I have to agree with Wilma Flintstone. I was hanging with the original post and just thinking that this person, Gonga, was just a bit on the over cautious side when it comes to germs. I completely understand that. However, the second post by Gonga pretty much confirmed my original suspicion, Gonga see his/her self supreme to rest of us lowly folks who spend our hard earned dollars at Disney. I fully understand the problem with "scantly clad" people or folks who don't seem to have the same philosophy on hygiene as I do. However, using such nasty descriptions revealed Gonga's true colors.

I agree with buzz2400. It's more than obvious that she is primarily talking about fat people grossing her out. They can be just as clean or dirty as anyone else on the face of the earth. I agree that you should stay home.

Not to try and start a feud - but I have to agree that Gonga's post did sound like she had a problem with "fat" people. You didn't hear any mention of skinny ladies who's boobs are falling out of their tops and their butt cheeks are hanging out of their shorts and they haven't shaved their armpits grossing her out. I would much rather get in a ride behind a heavy person than THAT. All I'm trying to say is the folks who took offense aren't just being overly sensitive in my book. And Gonga - you may not have meant anything by your post - we just all need to try and remember that with message boards we aren't "hearing" a person and the typed word can be mistaken for something it wasn't meant to mean very easily. We all need to take anything posted here with a grain of salt. AND we all need to think how our posts will be interpreted BEFORE pushing the sumit reply button :D

And the person with the runny nose was not described as being fat - just gross - and I think THAT would have grossed us all out :D

No I think you should re-read the post again. Me thinks you do not comprehend very well.

I understand that we all come in various shapes and sizes, and skeevy is not just a big person. It was not directed at any one size of person, I was just telling of my experiences. WDW attracts people from all walks of life and some people are very discusting, large and small. Can the guy with the hairy back help that ....no, but if I had a hairy back like that I would wear a t shirt that offered more coverage (not a muscle t shirt), and I certainly would not wear shorts tight enough that I could read his fortune. Was I skeeved to sit in the seat after him.... ummm yes - wouldn't you be?? If the lady with the huge mole was skinny I would still be grossed out. Most likely it would have gone unnoticed if 2 people did not have to pull her out of the seat though. It has nothing to do with being from NY and that is not a very good thing to say because it sounds you are trying to start a negative NY thing, which has nothing to do with it. The man smelling of B.O. and cigaretts does gross me out too, espically when you are down wind. So I guess none of you have ever had someone like that on line near you, and never grossed you out.

It sounds like no one has ever been discusted by anyone else then......well I guess it is indeed a perfect world.

It amazes me though that the "have you ever been shocked" thread had many, many posts. Lots of them regarding being grossed out by other people.

Hey gonga,

Do you have any close family members or friends that are overweight. You give the impression that the word "skeevy" desribes overwieght people. I am sure that you are not swimsuit modle material and you in fact might gross out an overweight person. HMMMMMMMMMM
Personally I am not overweight but have several family members and friend who are and I find my self constantly defending them against narrow minded people like you. There are many different kinds of predjudism and this is definately one that is constantly overlooked!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Gonga...
While you are certainly entitled to your opinion... don't you think that maybe...just maybe, some folks could take offense to your post??? Being large or having a mole on your leg, or having hair on one's back does not , to me, constitute an individual that would skeeve me out. I think that you need to look within yourself to find out what about these factors grosses you out so much. Lighten up...people come in all varieties....don't judge people 'till you know them.

Gonga - For example: if it was just the big mole that bothered you, than you would have said "A lady with a big mole got out of the seat". Instead, you made reference to her size, and even in your reply to defend yourself, you made note of the fact that two people had to pull her out of the ride, which made the mole more noticeable. If you don't think you have a problem with overweight people, then you're in denial. You have a right to be disgusted with fat people, but you should keep it to yourself.

OMG get a grip.
I am not responsible for anyone's weight........and the issue is not about weight. the OP reads Not as Clean as you think......not -Not as fat as you think.

If you are angry reagarding my posts and you feel overweight, I am not to blame.......I don't even know you. It's very surprising to me how anyone can take an issue and make it into them being overweight and their feelings. Personally I don't care what size you all are, its none of my business - if you want to be fat, be fat. I was not grossed out by anyones weight but by the situation. That is not judging anyone by stating that I get grossed out by sitting in a seat after a man with a hairy nearly bare sweaty back. It is gross. It's gross also that some people wear shorts that half their butt hangs out like someone else mentioned above. Does anyone get grossed out by that ? When I was there last week it was very very hot. People sweat...........sometimes it can be discusting, when others are not properly covered.
