Welcome Home! How was it? How was the weather? And the 33 Club (or whatever it's called)?

My first typing class was on manual typewriters (1983), then I moved on to electric. I've also worked on MagCards.

My first typing class was on manual typewriters (1983), then I moved on to electric. I've also worked on MagCards.

Trip was fine. We go to WDW all of the time but have not been to DLR in many years. It's nice, similar to Disneyland Paris in layout, but it's not WDW. Weather was fine for the 2 days we were there but we came home today instead of tomorrow because of the storm that has arrived.

Club 33 was a very special experience. Our server has been working at the Club since the Club opened; she said she had started there while still in high school. They treat you like royalty there. The secret door to enter/exit is right next to the Blue Bayou, the most popular restaurant at Disneyland. So there are tons of people standing around waiting to get in to Blue Bayou and they were all staring at us when we went up to press that hidden buzzer and were admitted. Club 33 is not well known so I can imagine they were trying to figure out what the heck we were doing. Anyway, it ranks up there at the top of my Disney experiences.

The whole time I was at Disneyland, I kept thinking about how many days until our WDW trip. I certainly understand the excitement.

Do you have anything special planned for this one? We are doing a few new things on ours. We are doing the Nature Inspired Segway Tour at Epcot and we have booked lunch with Shamu at Seaworld. If they have resumed that by the time we go.

my first real typing class was in 71, we also learned morse code as we learned the home row keys and so on. we learned the code and typing in about a week. and we learned on the manual royal typewriter.

Pakey, Club 33 sounds wonderful! I'm glad you had a good time.

We leave in 40 days!!! I'm getting excited, but worried. I don't feel we are ready, yet. Also, we have to see how DH is doing because it will be the 4th week of his recovery when we go. I just found out last week that they will be making 2 extra incisions so the doc can look at the upper part of his palm to see exactly what is going on there. He still doesn't think he can fix that part, but is hoping the release will help it.

As for typing, my kids are learning that now on the computer. The bbc has a site to teach kids the homerow, etc. It has a singing goat. Wierd. Still better than the boring class I took in 8th grade, that was still on a typewriter. My kids don't know what a typewriter is.

And since this is the no SF thread, the other night we had Mickey pancakes and bacon. YUM!

Our new things this time include the Garden Festival which we've never seen before, as well as going to the Boardwalk to eat at ESPN (DD LOVES hot wings). We'll walk around so mom can see it, as she's never been there before. Then we're going to get over to Beaches & Cream at some point to see a Kitchen Sink in person, and I'd like to look around the Beach Club. We're also going to Donald's Breakfast in AK and Tony's Town Square in MK. Nothing too exciting. Since I'm paying for the entire trip, I'm trying to keep things under control. Just being there is enough for me.

The Kitchen Sink is a show all by itself. And Donald's Breakfast is my favorite character meal. The most laid back vacations are the best ones. We are taking someone whose never been before and that always means packing more into the trip than I'd like.

Hi, all --

I was MIA this weekend -- younger son had a baseball tournament. It was fun, but I didn't get anything done except that all weekend.

I caught up on the thread --

I'm way older than Alpha-mom. I think I'm older than kimmar. I too learned to type on a manual typewriter, but we did have one row of electric ones that I got to use part of the time. My first computer had an amber screen with white letters -- don't remember the program or anything.

I'm glad Pakey had a good time at DL and is ready to go to WDW. I'm also glad PK'smom is leaving soon for WDW.
