My father in law says the same thing, but in opposite order. Hmmm, I bet Larry the Cable Guy stole it from my father in law.

GP, do you remember a program called MDMS? :scared1:

is that a program...or an OS?

the first system I ever worked with used a base 8 (octal) language.

we actually use 8 level teletype paper tape to program.

and the "computer" was about half the size of a refridgerator and had a HUGH memory capacity of 128 Kilobytes WooHOOO!!!

I got the name wrong -- it was actually ATMS. It was supposed to be a word processing program. :rotfl: The screen was enormous (looked like ET's head). As you typed, the letters wrapped around the screen -- off one side and then onto the next line. You also had to type your codes are you type. If you wanted your next paragraph double spaced, you'd have to type the code for it. Everything was just one big blur, line after line. HORRIBLE!

I come back to this; having to disclose our ages in computer years?

I remember having to do keypunch cards that were then fed into a computer.

Actually, I learned to type on a manual typewriter. The first electric typewriter I saw was when I joined the Air Force.

Welcome Home! How was it? How was the weather? And the 33 Club (or whatever it's called)?

My first typing class was on manual typewriters (1983), then I moved on to electric. I've also worked on MagCards. :)
