NOT Another Swine Flu Thread.....

hmmm... you might be right... guess it doesn't compete with that roadkill delight Texas homeschoolers cook up.:woohoo:

Good news on that front. Someone finally pointed out to those advocating such a disgusting meal, that it is against Texas law. I'm very happy to report that I no longer have read about it.

Now I need to go move my suburban. I think I may have parked on the bacon....

I don't get it... a state where you can carry a handgun to shoot dinner but you can't eat the stuff you run over.
Who'd've figured... :confused3

I don't know anyone who hunts with a handgun, for that you need a rifle or a shotgun. The handgun is for protection. You're going to be a lot more cafeful about who you rob if you have worry about that person pulling a gun on you.

:thumbsup2 Oh you betcha!

DH is a longtime NRA member and we live in an area where nearly everyone hunts but we need a permit to carry. I'm pretty sure there's no law against cookin' up roadkill though.

I do have a neighbor who goes out to collect the recent kills on the road nearby but I always assumed he buried them. He told us once to call him if we ever hit a deer or racoon and I know he picks up the dead squirrels and rabbits. Either way, all I can say is ewwwwww...

Skip a few days and you miss a whole lotta swine action here.

BTW, I do believe Californians hunt with handguns.

And I did once see roadkill in my ex-husband's grandmother's refridgerator. It was a possum. The memory has never left me.

The memory that has never left me is when DH, then my high school boyfriend, pulled the head of a deer out of an ice chest to show me the tongue hanging out of its mouth. I could have lived my whole life without seeing that, now it haunts me. I'm kinda glad he doesn't hunt anymore.

I am with Pakey. Miss a few days and you miss road kill, handguns and diet and diet coke with bacon. And alphabet mom, I grew up with my older cousin dressing deer on our kitchen table. I feel your pain.

...I wouldn't worry too much - she probably covered it in BACON and everything was alright again....
