Not again...problems with new kitten.

My brother has a Maine Coon Cat, but she's psychotic. Among her lovely personality traits are she doesn't like women (she's attacked my sister and I) and she never learned to cover her poop.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the breed though.

Hopefully, it will all be okay with your new little one.

If not, here are some links to Maine Coon Cat Rescue groups.

I agree with Poly Princess and Donna -- if this cat (heaven forbid) doesn't work out, check around at shelters and rescues. My co-worker has a lovely Maine Coon from a shelter, and the Humane Society in town gets pure- and half-breeds all the time. (Lots of Siamese... I still want that cream girl...)

But, most importantly, I hope this one gets healthy and you don't have any more worries!

Hope you have good news. It's heartbreaking when these things happen! I'll keep you in my prayers.

Oh Beauty here are a bunch of {{{{{{HUGS}}}} for you.

I actually checked into the Maine Coon rescue but decided on the kitten because of the color I was looking for. At this point though, I don't care as long as the baby is healthy and happy! I have a part Maine Coon who is 7 years old and she is a mess. She rules the house and everything in it but she loves people. She is spoiled rotten.

I will update you all as soon as I hear from the blood work and tests.

I know nothing about this, just good luck and hope everything turns out ok.:D

I'm sorry, Beth. I hope everything turns out okay. I think the breeder's attitude is a warning sign though. Not that there is something wrong with the kitten but I wouldn't want to deal with someone like that anymore. Good luck.

Beth, I am so sorry. :( Is this the same breeder, or did you just say you went with a different breeder for the second (third???) attempt?

Good luck, and you'll be in my prayers. Again, if you want/need to talk, drop me an email/PM.

If the breeder is telling you to bring the cat back for a refund without seeing your vet's test, and is acting huffy and mad about it, it sounds like she/he already knows of problems and has not been upfront. I would NOT get another cat from this breeder or anyone they recommend.

I recommend pound kitties - or rescues. If you let the pound know that you want a Maine Coon, they will call you when one comes in.

Sorry you are having so many problems.
