My family and I are huge fans of Disney World and we go as often as we can. One thing I wish WDW could do is to verify the reasoning for issuing a GAC to guest. We were at the Magic Kingdom getting ready to get off Small World. We were the next boat to off-load while watching the boat ahead of us load I over heard one guy talking to another about "How easy it was to get on the ride without waiting in line." Another person waiting in line asked him how he got on the ride so fast. They guy reached in his back pocket pulled out a GAC card while smiling and said " Just to to the front gate and ask them for a disablilty pass, and tell them you can't stand for a long time." I have a disabled daughter and she is in a wheel chair, and I was thinking to him that he should be blessed that what I saw of the party he was with none of them were in or using a wheel chair they seemed quite healthy. To my wife said that she'd gladly stand in line for 40 minutes to an hour if our daughter was typical. Yes the parks were busy because of President's Day Week and all but there has to be a better way for Disney to Police this problem. I am sure this guy isn't the first or the last to do this. I know with HIPPA Disney can't ask, but they have the right to refuse to issue a GAC if they see fit.

Yes it is annoying when people abuse the system. But it is impossible to tell if the person has an invisible need. I have told people who have asked how or why I have the GAC, "i am just so cool! "

This is of course not why I have the GAC but I prefer not to discuss why I have it while I am in park. So i make a joke. I am a full time wheelchair user too.

I have not been to WDW a lot recently, but I have seen many people get denied GACs in DL in the last few months.

It is actually the ADA which prevents Disney from requiring proof of disability.

Since there is no question to be answered, I think this is a good time to close the thread. This topic has been debated into the ground in the past and always ends poorly.
