So yesterday we were looking forward to our 5:20 reservations at Yachtsman. got there at 4:45, pager went off at 5:30.
Was seated at a great table. But noticed it was a bit warm. Then the lights started flickering.
A lot.
Waiter apologized, said a team was working on it.
After 30 minutes of continued flickering (the kind of fast on/off strobe affect that really affect your mind), the room was hot. Really hot.
Waiter brought my meal. I had ordered the Porterhouse. Can't tell you how it was because by that point the lights were completely out and I couldn't see it.
Waiter continues to apoligize. I continue to assure him it's not his fault.
But at this point I don't care who's fault it is. I'm getting a headache because it's hot and stuffy and I can't eat my meal because I can't see it because they are passing out more candles but haven't made it to us yet.
My wife goes to talk to the manager. She's pissed. Not good, because I know that when she's pissed, bad things happen.
I walk up to my wife and the manager, let him know we're together. He brings me up to speed about how an entire team is working on the lights and it's hot because they forgot to turn the A/C on before they opened and it takes a while for it to bring the room temp down etc...etc..etc...
I told him we just couldn't stand it anymore, can't finish our meal, I'll tip the waiter because it's not his fault but we aren't paying and are leaving right now.
He shakes his head up and down in acknowledgement.
The room is still dark. The room is still hot. And they are still seating people. I understand that things happen that cannot be predicted nor controlled, but I really saw what a lot of people on this board have commented on, and that's a real lack of experience/professionalism with Disney's food service management.
Oh well, we'll try it again later this week and see what happens.
