Trip gone wrong- we are AP holders and come just about every month , this is our third trip to the fort in our popup- they claimed our fire pit was not allowed (even though we used it before), they complained all four tires of the truck weren't on the pavement rudely, my Disney experience app was horrible!, and worst part to me someone stole my hair straightener that was in the bathroom :( (I know to you men that's not a big deal to you but huge and disappointing to me!!)

Sorry! Some days it seems you wish you would have stayed in bed, eh?? :flower3: Don't give up - a better trip is sure to be in your future!! pixiedust:

Does your firepit have the enclosed top and mesh around the sides? They have over the last 2 years started getting stricter on the firepits, decorations, etc. I know the requirements haven't changed, but they have started enforcing the rules more.

I had been told by previous campers about being asked to keep your vehicle on the pavement so I didn't park off it any. I did see some signs taped to a few windows during my November stay instructing the owner to please move the vehicle and get it back on the pavement. So they have been on that pretty heavily recently. Wish they would show as much concern about the sites that have 2 and 3 cars on them.

The straightening iron won't be on Disney, but I know it had to make you mad that someone would stoop so low. Was it in the bathhouse with you? Were you taking a shower or something when they took it? Just curious.

My trip in 2012 was like a National Lampoons movie, so I know what you are getting at.

they claimed our fire pit was not allowed (even though we used it before)
. . . prior use does not matter
. . . if it is not a proper design, it is not allowed
. . . we are trying our best to bring firepits into conformance

they complained all four tires of the truck weren't on the pavement rudely
. . . this is a valid issue
. . . there is no way for me to judge "rudely"
. . . it could have been rude, or just a perception

my Disney experience app was horrible!, and worst part to me someone stole my hair straightener that was in the bathroom
. . . did you leave it unsecured and unattended?
. . . neither is an excuse
. . . just a question

About the firepit: it is a closed topped fire fit with mesh sides, I think it was just the guy in a bad mood because right after the firepit is when he mentioned about the truck ( it was one tire off the pavement). We looked over two sites from us and there are 3 cars and an open firepit with people playing beer pong and nothing was said to them! I'm probably just over thinking everything and just upset about how the trip was. About the straightener I plugged it in, went to the bathroom stall came out and it was gone!

I'm sure next time will be much better! But I must say I'm excited to go home tomorrow!

What specifically about the firepit did he say was wrong? If your pit is within regulation, then you may have a legitimate reason to be mad.

He just said first we needed to put out the fire or we had to put tinfoil over it (it was not a large fire at all it was one started log in) and that it was not a proper fire pit in his British voice. He said tinfoil would be our only option and that night only( we just put it out) Then he told us about the vehicle and sat in his golf cart until we put the fire out and moved the vehicle. We were not a large loud groups just two adults eating our dinner at the time.

Just upsetting to hear and then look over and there's a party going on a few campsites away and nothing was said.

I'm sure next time will be better we will be in a different loop and will be back to the fort in May! Until then I'll stick to a value resort we have booked for March and April flower and garden festival! Sorry for the venting :(

The new rocking chairs were nice though and dinner at trails end was delish!!

Could it have been one of the workers that took the straightening iron bc they saw it plugged in and unattended? I probably would have asked just bc seems extremely sad and pathetic otherwise.

Sounds like a rough day with a less than magical CM.

There's probably nothing that can be done at this point. (except get another opinion from a CM or supervisor on the fire pit).

Good news is, you're still at the Fort and putting this behind you shouldn't be too hard. Hopefully the pixie dust comes out and the rest of the trip is great.

Don't let a couple of crabby people and a phone app steal your joy! The flat iron is odd, but I wonder if someone's family member took it thinking it belonged to someone else?

The rest of the incidents I could have lived with and put down to rules super-enforcers, but stealing someone's hair straightener?!!?! That's beyond the pale, that is!

Speaking as a frizzy headed gal, stealing flatiron or straightener should be a 1st class felony!!

Sorry things weren't as magical as you wanted. I'm sure things will be better next time.

I also have unruly curls and I definitely understand that this was probably the straw that just pushed things over the top for the OP.

Dear OP, I hope things are better for your next trip to FW. In the meanwhile, I love the flower and garden festival and I'm sure you'll have a great time there!
