Just wanted to come on here to get something off my chest really.......

My dear M&D have taken my 2 girls away for a few days (they always look after them for me in the school holidays). They only went yesterday. My Dad is retired but does a few gardening jobs to get a bit of extra cash.

I had a call this morning from their neighbour telling me that my Dad's garage had been broken into and a mower worth about £900 had been stolen. I know it's not the end of the world and obviously, if they'd got into the house it would have been a lot worse but it worries me because I think someone must have been watching the house to know that there was no-one there last night. The daft thing is they left another mower, some strimmers and a chain saw - seems the mower they did take was stolen to order!

It's just all the hassle that goes with it. Fortunately my parents have got very good neighbours who are tidying it all up and making it safe and I'll pop back over this evening just to check on things. I've reported it to the police and I know there's nothing else I can do now. I just feel sorry for my poor Dad whos' now going to have all the hassle of sorting out the insurance claim and getting a new mower etc etc. I bet he'll spend the rest of the holiday worrying about it, too.

:sad2:

:grouphug: sorry to hear this, theives are just the lowest :sad2:
they never think of the people they are stealing from :sad2:

oh no, not the best start to their holiday for them either. Why can't people just work for the things they want instead of taking them from other people! Makes me really angry! :headache:

Hiya,

Very sorry to hear about this.

I do know how you feel though (unfortunatley) When i was on holiday at WDW in Oct '02 my car was stolen from home. The worst part is it they had to have been watching our house as I live at home with my mum at the mo' and she was off work sick for the first 10 days and my car was stolen the first morning she went back. The first thing she said when she picked me up is....

didyouhaveagreattime?hopesobecauseyourcarwasstolentheotherday....

I had to get her to repeat it about 4 times before I got the gist of what she said!

Oh, that is really disappointing. Your poor parents, burglary is an awful experience.

I empathize as my student house was broken into 5 times in the space of 4 weeks once (a long time ago!). Goodness knows why, we had nothing to steal, but it is the intrusion that is so horrible :(

 i just hate people like that who do the low lives think they are..we work hard all our lives to buy the things we want to make our lives comfortable then some low life s***e comes along and takes it as though they have a right to it...most of them have never worked and never will work..
trouble is if and when they are caught some bloody do gooder will say ahhh but he or she had a bad childhood or some other feeble excuse and then they get away with it to go rip somebody else off.....

totally agree
this country is way too leniant on crime imo

Thank you all for your kind replies.

I'm a little calmer today!

A friend of mine who is a police sergeant reckons it was probably someone local who had seen the mower being used, took a fancy to it and saw that my parents were away and grabbed the opportunity. Little bu**ers.
