Not a fan of the "new" Unbeach Club Villas

I never said that every member could be pleased, Disney has their reasons for what they do and we are never told what they are. If they wanted member feedback, it would be easy to set up an online survey or include a survey with the dues bill.

For me, theming is the most important thing.
If I were to buy Beach Club, it darn well better look beachy inside and out.
If it doesn't, it's just a Holiday Inn with a good location.

Anyone able to fold down the table on the murphy bed? I couldn't. Looks to me like it was made to be permanently in the upright position, at least while the bed is folded away.

We also were in a studio recently (left a week ago yesterday). The decor didn't bother me as much as the lack of a freezer section (DH had to go to the ice machine every night, just like the old "pre-DVC" days) and that tiny coffee maker. Yes, we called for a full size coffee maker, but they told us they were all out. Not surprising-the studios have a capacity of 4 people, but in reality those coffee makers only give 2+ cups of coffee. What's with that? What I liked was the tile around the bathtub-it's like being surrounded by waves-"Under the Sea"

And the floor of the bathroom was like sparkly white sand. Maybe I expected to feel "unbeachy", but I was too busy being grumpy about my lack of coffee or ice.
Oh, I agree about that coffee pot!! I was on my own this time, but in three weeks, I'll be at BLT with my dh. He won't be amused with such a small coffee pot!!!
But I did like the bathroom tile work. It was fairly beachy.

And when I heard they got rid of jets in the tubs at BCV, I e-mailed a few places to complain and beg them not to take them out where I own (OKW, BWV and HHI). And, here I learn they are taking the jets out of OKW on the next reno. Maybe I am in the minority (I think I am) on wanting to keep the jets but how many of the majority are sending e-mails telling them to please REMOVE the jets? Why would someone? And I have heard of several others, in my jet loving camp, who have e-mailed and called about not wanting the jets to be removed. But I am guessing it's a cost savings thing. No repairs and easier to clean (which is good when they have mousekeepers that do crappy jobs on cleaning due to being paid very little). Are we, as owners, going to see the savings in decreased dues? Nope!

As I stated, they have their reasons, room design changes are fueled by housekeeping. Shorter bathroom clean times, less carpet that needs cleaning, remove fans that need cleaning, install light fixtures that are cheap and easy to change bulbs, remove clocks that never have the correct time and housekeeping doesn't want to deal with them, remove CD players and let guests stream.

The modern decor is OK, it's just that they've mixed some of the old furniture and the new furniture, and they don't work together at all. Styles and colors are totally different. This is supposed to be one of their top hotels, and they charge $500 plus for these rooms. It's tacky and cheap looking.

To effectively clean a jetted tub to the same sanitary conditions it takes to clean an unjetted tub, it would render that room unusable for nearly a day.

I don't think people understand how absolutely disgusting jetted tubs are. Hair, etc., collects around the jet nozzles and it's not easy to pop-out, clean and sterilize those jet nozzles. Not to mention the mold and other matter that collects behind them when a jetted tub goes unused for an extended period of time in a room that may likely have the A/C raised/turned off.

I used to LOVE jetted tubs ... until I redid the bathroom in my house and had a jetted tub removed. And this one was just used by my husband and I, and cleaned routinely by our housekeeper. It. Was. So. Gross. I'll never use them again.

Yeah, I took my jetted tub out when I redid my bath, too. They do get gross - and in a hotel they are stranger gross.
