not a fan of fast pass plus

We are staying off-site in March. DD has never been to Disney, so this whole thing will be new to her. I figure there's enough to see without the FP+ hassle. If we can't ride something because of a 2 hour wait to ride a 5 minute ride, so be it. We're just happy to be going on vacation at Disney (so many people never get to go due to budget restraints). But I'm saving over $1,000 in lodging, so it's a win for me and my budget. Yeah, we'll have to pay for parking. I doubt the $60 will break us. lol

We do have our dining reservations. Thank goodness those don't require FP+. People would starve! ;)

Where are the :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: of FP+, who wanted a "fair"system.? Just wondering, how they like it now?

We plan on going over Easter break. (Can you say crowds!!!) we go every year during this time and have always been able to manage the crowd by using the old FP system. Hearing about the restriction and mess of FP+, has me wanting to cancel. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they sort it out before then. I'm holding off buying new tickets because of it too. We have old park hopper tickets with two days left on them. If this FP nightmare doesn't get any better, I plan on using the two days we have left and head on over to Busch Gardens and Universal. Which will also mean we cancel several of our dining reservations. I'm glad we drive and will have our car with us....

We have booked our DVC for a week in October. We are seriously considering skipping Disney with the exception of a MNSSHP. I never thought, that I'd become one of "those people", but the Igor reign has been rough. Our last two trips were less than magical.

I hear ya!! Our yearly trips have always been Disney. I'm sad that I have reached this point. But, I really can't justify the amount of money and the restrictions that are being put on my vacations. It is not just FP+ either. Add DDP, refill cups and price increases. FP+ is the straw that broke this camel's back.

I don't think offsiters were fans and that's who is being affected the most. And people staying on site don't have to deal with these lines.

I'm not a cheerleader, but I'm enjoying FP+ for our trip in a few weeks. We're onsite. I think it sucks for people offsite having to wait in those kiosk lines though, and I hope they do something to help with that.

If that was the only problem I don't think it would be as big of a deal. It was the fp return lines that were crazy long too. That is a huge red flag this system is not ready to be rolled out in full capacity, especially at a park like MK. Again if you are going at a low time you won't feel it, but moderate and high will unless something changes.:sad1:

I'm still waiting for my invitation to the "FP abusers" meeting. I'm sure it was just an oversight though. :p

My bad ... someone pointed out to me how with the new system you are forced to make exactly three FP+ reservations and that a lot of people are only using one or two of them, thereby robbing other guests of opportunity.

So I'm having to redo my invite list of "abusers" and it's getting pretty big.

True. Not something I really took into consideration since we do go during slow times.

Pretzels and cheese are both Tier 1 consumables, so you can only pick one. Luckily, Tier 2 has spam, anchovies, vegemite, and warm mayonnaise.

Omg, lolololololol!!! I know I still have many pages to read of this thread, but I had to reapond because I.Can't.Breathe. LOL!!!!!!

Maybe.

But, it is also likely that they will open ADVANCE FP+
to off-site guests, and render this technique unneccessary.
Time will tell.

The accountants won't let them -- "never leave money on the table."

But I LIKE Spam... I'll have yours.

Yes, that means I'm having the Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam, Spam...

We always stay onsite, but I do not like FP+. 3FP, 1 per ride and/or tier, plus no park hopping..STINKS! I can't ride roller coasters, so I lose there too. I laughed out loud when a CM informed me, "I could use my extra FP for parade viewing, etc". I apologized to the CM, it's not her fault. Does Disney really believe, that is a suitable trade off?

I like how you think. ;) I'm still banking, that guests will be so upset and frustrated with this "enhancement"; they will be willing to sell their first born for early booking and/or additional FP+. :thumbsup2.

The flaw in your reasoning is that on-site guests are having to wait in long standby lines as well. Sure, they have it a LITTLE better because if they pre-booked, they can have a shorter wait for a few prime rides. But overall, pre-booking ability is only a slight improvement over what off-site guests are experiencing. It appears that WDW's effort to "spread the FP wealth" and make everyone equal is merely resulting in making everyone equally miserable standing in longer lines (totally predictable outcome BTW).

Not so long ago, we "negative nelly naysayers" seemed to be just a vocal minority. But the longer this goes on, the more it seems like the people actually benefitting at all from FP+ are the outliers (e.g., the small number of people who slept in, never bothered with FPs, and just like to soak in the atmosphere and "people-watch").

This. Exactly.

My experience with the fp+ return line was chaos. People had to get out of line because they were 10 minutes early. One family who didn't speak English was 2 hours late. Mickey readers weren't turning green. There was a lot of explanation by CM that slowed down lines or people just walked past the CM while she was talking to people.

Also when a ride is down, fp+ return times are ignored. TOT was down during our time but we were told we could return anytime. When we returned we waited about 15-20 minutes in fp line. Unfortunately we were never able to return for our ETwB when it was closed during our return time. I was tired of checking the website to see if it opened and I gave up. It wasn't such a big deal bc we were able to get paper fp for other rides.
