We drove last year and are doing it again this December. Wasn't bad at all and we had a 2 and 4 year old. We left at 2:00am and made it all the way down to Dalton, Georgia also. If I remember right, it was about an 7-8 hour drive from there. We stopped every couple of hours to stretch as well.

I agree. We always drive from Kenosha, WI. This next trip I'm trying to plan it so that we arrive near the mountains during sunrise, or sunset. What time did you get there when you left at 2:00 a.m.?

I'm thinking on the way back home we will leave disney at 6:30 a.m. and get to mountains by like 5:00.

We drive from NJ to FL too. We do a good 17 hours non-stop. Bathroom breaks and minimal 15 minute breathers. Our DD is older and can keep up with us so it's very enjoyable.

I'm glad you had a good drive down. We are driving from Canada with 3 boys 1, 5, and 7 and I'm soooo nervous about it.:(

MamaLema,

Don't worry about the drive...Our family just did it (from Ottawa) 2 weeks ago. We have a 4 year old and a 9 month old. Left Ottawa at 5:30PM and drove through the night. Pulled into the NC border rest stop at about 7:00AM and took a break as the kids woke up. We then stopped every 2-3 hours to stretch and let the kids get out of their seats. Arrived in Brunswick, GA at around 4PM and got a hotel for the night. Relaxed, had dinner and left the next morning at about 7:30 - everyone was well rested when we arrived at WDW by 11:30AM. Any questions, let me know. Have a great trip!

:o
We did it also from Ontario and it wasn't as bad as we thought. We left Friday night at 6:00pm and arrived in Kissimee at 6:00 Saturday night hands down. With 7 stops and a 7 year old, a 4 year old and a 2 1/2 just into toilet training. No accidents and he went the bathroom when the rest of us did. No problems you'll do fine. Plan on doing it again this Feb.

Just give them stuff to do in the car and they'll love the experience

Uhhh sorry, this was supposed to go under "Driving from Wisconsin", but it seems like I started a new thread. Sorry, I have been picking up extra shifts at work (3rd shift) to have extra money for vacation and it seems it is finally taking it's toll!! LOL!!
