Hi All,
We've taken the plunge, and booked our first Disney cruise, the WBPC in 2016. We always try to do some sort of trip in May to celebrate my Mothers birthday... it will be her 75th next year!! And after research the PC transition cruises on several different lines, DCL came up the least expensive. It was a wonderful suprise, and enough to convince us to dive in. That being said, we've secured a navigator's verandah on deck 7. They look really quaint, I saw someone describe them as an enclosed sunroom.
My question is this, is their design such that you do not get any 'overshine' from your neighbors if they leave their balcony lights on all night?? I love being on my balcony during the evening to star-gaze. On past cruises however, with traditional balconies, on that other line, I've often had neighbors that either deliberately or by accident, never turned their outside lights off, and it hampered my sky watching somewhat..... it looks like I wont have that issue with this room. Am I correct in assuming that??
I'd love to see any pics you may want to share.

Thanks for your input
Tutu

I don't know about balconies, but you'll have a great time. We did the EBPC and loved it. (My comment should bump this up so more people might see it.) You could also consider renaming it "verandas" or something to get more interest. I hope you get the info you need.

Thanks MelSpees.... Mom has done the crossing both ways , but it will be my first time. I'm very much looking forward to experiencing it.

Except for a large open window, the verandah is entirely enclosed and you should not see any light from neighboring verandahs. After all, except for the ones on the very end, you have navigator verandahs surrounding you.

Here's a photo of the bench style seating and a little bit of the "open porthole". We had a navigator's veranda for our Alaskan cruise in 2013 and loved it.

This photo gives an idea of the "porthole" in the enclosed verandas, although it was taken at an angle. I'm short so had to stand up to see anything, but at night I liked to sit out there and listen to the ocean and look out at the night sky.

Thank you Disneyfaninaz , I was hoping that was the case.

Thanks Tink too, I can see how that would be a great spot for Alaska. We've done 3 trips north, with balconies each time. I can see alot of pluses to the enclosed balc. I bet it cut a lot of that cool breeze down. :-)

I can offer you both photos and video of our Navigator's Verandah on the Wonder. We loved the room so much that we have the same one booked on the Magic later this year :)

Thank you Nikki for the link. That's perfect. We're in 7124...which I'm thinking is your room ....on the other side of the ship. I'm really looking forward to this trip, all of our previous balconies have been much higher from the water line....
