Norwegian Cruise Line

I have cruised with Disney Cruise Line twice (3 day and Western Carribean). but am considering going on Norwegian Cruise in Hawaii with my mother and neice and nephew, ages 8 and 10, does anyone know how the children's programs and the ship in general compare?

It has been a long time since I sailed NCL but they are considered more of a budget line than Celebrity, Princess, etc. We sailed on the Voyager c lass ships on RCCL and the kid's programming was outstanding. Take a look around at other lines (RCCL, Celebrity, Princess) beforeyou book NCL.

I have not cruised DCL yet (three more months!) but from everything I have read and heard..DCL is a 4/5 star ship and NCL is a 3.

We have been on 4 DCL and 6 NCL cruises. Our most recent was the NCL Star in March around Hawaii. I have to say we were disappointed in NCL. They were doing the Freestyle dining.We loved the Teppenyaki resturant, but other than that we thought the DCL food was better and a better variety.We did not sail with kids and I don't remember a Kid's club...but sure there must have been one.Although there were alot of kids always running around.We had stayed in Maui the week before and loved it ! This was the first time we've ever wished we were back on land.And we love to cruise ( 21 in all ). If we ever go back to Hawaii we will just do Maui. The entertainment was mediocre.Actually can't remember much about it.Roger Carr was at the piano bar and he was the best thing on the ship ! IMHO NCL has really declined in quality. The cruise line that has really surprised us is Carnival ! We will be on the MAGIC July 10 and have recently booked the new Carnival VALOR for next spring ! Fantastic value !!
