We have flown them multiple times (for US to Europe and within Europe) and we love flying with them. Their dreamliners are so, so nice.
Yes, you are charged for everything but we just took snacks and paid for water--not really any more expensive than the airports.
I wouldn't classify *any* coach seat as ROOMY but it worked well for us.
You get to check and carry on a bag (on an international flight). They weighed our checked bag (back before we figured out how to travel with only carry-ons) but they have never weighed our carry-on bags. I LOVE their carry-on storage--so roomy and nice.
It's a no frills airline...you can't order food or drinks whenever you want--you're limited to doing it within certain hours (after the people who pre-paid have gotten their food and drinks). You aren't getting anything extra during your flight unless you pay.
That being said, on the international dreamliners, there are individual TVs with plenty of movies, the headrests are able to be moved slightly so you can "rest your head", and there are chargers at your seat.
I have never had a flight on them delayed or cancelled.
I pay in Kroner to save money.

So good luck! I completely recommend them! We've saved SO MUCH MONEY flying internationally with them.

Regarding Norwegian;

Seatguru indicates Coach; 17.2 inch width seats at 9 abreast with 31 -32" pitch.

Premium Economy; 19 inch width seats at 7 abreast with 46 inch pitch.

787's are great for their increased humidity and lower pressurization.

As noted check schedules. Norwegian only fly certain days. If they have have a hiccup, have a backup plan and insurance, IMO. Kind of like JetBlue unfortunately.

Other mainline carries may have more pitch in coach fwiw. And may include items as discussed charged for on Norwegian. Do your homework. IMO.
Other carriers may also interline with other carriers when IROPS may occur.
Meaning they could put you on other carries, to get you to your destination within a respectable time frame.

It's unfortunate the airlines have jammed in another seat in the width of the 787 aircraft.
They (all airlines) did this with the 777 too unfortunately. Added a row to make it 10 abreast. Very tight. Worse than the 787 fwiw.

I just checked and the EU Air passenger rights apply for Norwegian carriers as well. So, yes, you are entitled to a reimbursement for cancellation and a payment in case of delay: http://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/passenger-rights/air/index_en.htm

Does that cover if you fly from U.S. to Europe, or just Europe to U.S.?
