Hi All. :wave2: It's been a long time! Too long!
I've been a secret stalker, but with no plans. But now we have some planning to do, so am back for help and advice :goodvibes (pretty please)
DH is 60 in August, and I have booked a week at OKW with the intention to plan around it. First problem was I didn't realise it was the Labor Day weekend! See I said I'd been away too long!
Anyway, DH has seen flights direct to Fort Lauderdale from Gatwick, (which is closest to us)with Norwegian Air for a really good price and wants to book them. I'm not so sure as I have read some bad reviews.
So, has anyone used them to fly long haul, and if so what were your thoughts?
Pro's at the moment are direct from Gatwick; price (though they are budget and charge extra for luggage and food); and flight times.
Con's are bad reviews, luggage allowance, and they charge for everything else, so not sure if the price would end up the same as other flights.
Any help and advice would be appreciated!:) xx

Are the reviews for that route? I am not sure when it starts, I know many have booked it for this summer but its a new route this year so doubt the reviews you have read are for Gatwick to FL.

Just see what the complete price is, the ones that were booking for summer were paying about half VA prices into MCO.

Thread from when they were released. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3187266&highlight=norwegian

Hi Wayne :) Hope you,Karen and Matt are all well.
The reviews were long haul but to LAX and Bangkok. As you said there were none to FLL.
Wish I'd seen the thread when they were released! Prices have gone up again so they are now not so enticing!
enjoy your weekend! x

Don't know about the long haul routes but a mate of mine has used Norwegian on several trips to Norway and rates them quite highly.

Wow! He is so grown up now and not just height! How tall is he?! I kept up with your trip report last year, and his decision to return here was very brave, but obviously the best for him, as he has proved!
I know comments like "you must be so proud of him, and "he's a credit to to both, and himself" are a bit cliche-d, but hey! I can't think of anything more fitting; and if the cap fits....!! xx
PS seems very popular with the girls aswell!!;)

Have booked flights with Virgin now. We are staying a little later than usual because we want to do MNSSHP, but think we will have left before you arrive after your cruise x

He is 6`3", I have to look up at him being about 5" taller than me. Yes, popular with the girls :rotfl:

Our cruise is 6th-20th Oct then in Orlando 20th-27th.

Lol!
Dave's sis was booked on that cruise, but has decided it is too long so is now flying into MCO and going on one from Cape Canaveral (I think that's where you pick up?)
We are flying 26th Aug, but fly back on 12th Sept. Would have liked to stay longer, but there have been some changes at work, and even coming back on the 12th is pushing it a bit!
The kids want to do Universal so have been looking at spending a night in one of the hotels for FOTL. Not sure what a good price is though.:) Have found a club room, sleeping 5 at Hard Rock for £211pn. Is that good?:confused3

Just realised you are up this way this weekend. I was listening on the radio this morning about a show at the St James theatre 'A Spoonful of Sherman' Got a good review. All the music from the Sherman bros. Might try and book it!
Have a safe trip xx

Not heard of that show, just been looking.

We paid about £100 a few years back for RPR at Universal. Just had a basic room. So maybe now HRH in Club is going for around £200, not something I have looked at recently. Check the Universal forum, there used to be a thread running about prices everyone paid.

Seeing Charlie & The Choc Factory tonight. :)

Enjoy your eve. Have heard good reports of it x
