Which side of the ship is best for viewing the scenery when pulling in and out of ports?
 
It really doesn't matter as each side will see the same thing. You sail into the typical Fjord and then back out. So if you're on the Starboard side you'll see what is on the right side of the ship on the way in and then on the way out you'll see what was on the other side of the ship.

Also, sometimes the view is spectacular so the captain will spin the ship around and people can see everything no matter what.
