So we are headed to Copenhagen (in a little less than two weeks! :dumbo:) and I cannot figure out what we need to pack for our Norway Cruise. I saw somewhere where people say we will be needing gloves! Is that really necessary? I have the weather pulled up for all the ports right now and the lowest it seems to go is around 45F, 45 for us isn't glove weather, and that was the overnight temps. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm packing lightweight gloves, a stocking hat, and my lightweight winter coat. We were on the Alaska cruise a few years ago and it got cold on deck on Tracy Arm day. I expect to have similar temps. When you're surrounded by cold water and it's windy with temps are in the 40's, I believe you will wish you had a stocking cap, a coat and gloves.

MUN

Mun beat me to it, don't forget the windchill factor! If the wind is strong enough 45 could feel like it's in the 30s. If it rains too, you may miss a cap and light gloves.

I've been to Norway twice on cruises. I would highly recommend layers. Both times I was there they had unprecedented heat waves with temperatures in 90's. We has booked fat tire bike tours...highly recommend layers that can be peeled off if needed. We also had light weight gloves (went on to Iceland where we went to the top of a glacier)

When you all say light weight gloves, you mean those thin ones I used to see all around when I was younger? They're cotton?

We packed very similarly for Norway as we did for Alaska. Layering is the key. Depending on your tours you could see some snow. It was a little rainy in Copenhagen but also got very warm. It can get cold on deck as the ship moves, but we were in short sleeves heading back to Copenhagen on the last day.

Weather in Norway in June can be hit or miss. It can be warm, but also chilly.

I'd suggest lightweight rain gear, a fleece jacket (evenings will probably be a bit chilly) and lightweight gloves. Then hope you won't need any of it :-)

We needed toques and light gloves in Iceland last summer (first week of August). One day the wind was coming from the North and it was quite chilly. The other days with no wind and it was pleasant. So I would definitely bring some. Layers are crucial!

No, I mean a water resistant glove that are made out of some sort of poly microfiber. Mine aren't suitable for extreme cold, but are good for temps down to 20 degrees.

Gloves, I forgot to pack it thank you. My aunt its in Copenhagen right now and the they are having a beautiful day today but 4 days ago was raining.

For our cruise in 2015 Copenhagen was warm but Norway was cool.I had a jacket with fleece liner and I needed my gloves and hat for Alesund and Gerainger.

People really use gloves? I always just put my hands in my pockets LOL. Thinking about Norway for next cruise so good to know.

Depends.. I live in Norway, but if you're from warmer climate it may be good with gloves. I used gloves as late as yesterday since it was raining and windy, which made it much more chilly than what the temperature said. Also, the ocean will be cold and there might still be snow in the mountains in June, so if you have excursions booked on either place, you might want warmer clothes

Ohh I was just being funny. I am notoriously always dressed inappropriately for the weather. I usually just tough it out in the cold. My winter wardrobe needs serious updating lol.

Just looked at the long range forecast (we are on the same cruise) and the weather looks like it will be warmer than average. In some ways a shame we aren't in geiranger a day earlier - average high is 13C and on the Wednesday is forecast at 23C (the Thursday is 17C). Note they are all Celsius measures - apologies to those from the US who work in F!

THANKS for the details!! I can't see that far out on my weather forecast, is it possible to share if it's supposed to rain that day?

What's this celsius you speak of? :)

Bad news - accuweather now says there will be rain! I guess key take away is forecasts might be a bit volatile this far out!
