Norway ride

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but we have never been on it before... do you get wet?

We've never gotten wet on it. I thought it might be to intense for my 4 yo DD last Christmas, but it turned out to be one of her favorites....she can't wait to see the trolls again

This ride is very, very mild and I don't think anyone gets wet on it. However, my second DD, now 10, used to be scared of it when she was younger. She did not like the trolls and there is a small drop that you go down backwards!! Again, my other 3 kids have always loved this very mild ride, but if yours is easily scared just be warned!!

Definetly try it! You want get wet--maybe just a little misted at the most. After you get off the ride, there is a queue for a movie on Norway, but they do tell you that you can bypass it if you want to by walking through the theater if you are not into it. The only way out is through the theater and last time we were stuck waiting outside for 5-10 minutes because they had just shut the door and started the film.

Out of all of the boat type rides (Pirates of the Caribbean, El Rio Del Tiempo) in WDW this really a great one.

You don't get wet, but if you have smaller or younger kids who don't or can't go on the bigger rides they will enjoy this one.

It is a litlle dark and the "best part" is when the boat is turn around and you are sent backwords. Out of all of the world showcase rides (only two) this is the best.

This is my 4 yo favorite ride! We must have done this 15 times last year. Now he keeps talking about going back on the "swan boat ride"! I guess he thinks the front of the boat looks like a swan's neck!

I really love Maelstrom. I only wish it were a bit longer. It seems just when you're having fun, it's over.

You won't get wet and they have a nice short film at end of ride that I enjoy.

now about that small drop! compared to pirates or kali river. I cant stand the feeling of being dropped. in fact last year when i heard people screaming from the ride, i backed out and would not ride it.

I wouldn't say never, but odds are you won't get wet. I've gotten on Maelstrom where the seat was a little sprinkled and had to sit in it or where I got a little splash or mist, but I've never been soaked by any means.

I have been drenched on Pirates before. And I mean Splash Mtn drenched. It only happened once and I know it was a fluke, but somehow we came down that drop and the boat hit the water just right so that my entire right side was soaked. I was not happy! It wasn't a hot day and I wasn't planning on getting wet that day nor was I in the mood for it!
