what have you ordered?
what would you suggest?
whats the best bang for the buck?

I'd also like to hear some ideas. I just made a ressie for lunch there in October and the menu looks good, but would love to hear others' thoughts!:)

My daughter and I ate here in June. She is 7 and we had a great time. i would definitely recommend this place. I had the traditional meatloaf thing--can't remember the name of it--I think it started with a k. It was very good. We really enjoyed the cold bar as well, even though I was not expecting to. My daughter was chosen to get a special dessert where they bring over a chef's hat and coat and bring a troll shaped sugar cookie for the child to "paint" with icing and then eat. She loved it and got lots of special attention!! Good luck and hope you enjoy this place as much as we did.

I had the pasta with chicken and it was great. My daughter had pasta too, can't remember how it was prepared. We loved this place and are headed back in September for dinner.

It's Kjottkaker, and you're right -- fantastic. Plus, I could eat the smoked goat cheese they have on the cold buffet daily!! :thumbsup2

I think the soup and sandwich combo is the most delicious meal I've ever had. Really. It's unbelievable. Bang for the buck? Well- you aren't paying for the food- you are paying for the atmosphere...the princesses...etc. But, I'd pay $30 for that little cup of soup and open faced salmon sandwich again without a second thought.

It depends how picky your kids are. You have to remember the restaurant is in Norway, so the food has a real Norwegian flavour. For our lunch time buffet, there was a STRONG fish influence. Hubby and I loved it - DD didn't. She hardly ate anything - even the salads were very spicy flavour and/or had shrimp/ other fish (again, DD hates fish, so that was a big deal). So, the character viewing was rated high by her, but not the food.

I seem to remember getting some sort of pasta dish? I just remember that I really liked it though it was a little bland. But the cold bar was incredible. The smoked salmon and the shrimp salad were to die for.

thanks Liz - someone else suggested I may want the soup and sandwich since that night is MVMCP and not sure how the cabbage in other options would react with my body
