AH GUYS! I am really sorry to do this yet again, being all interruptive in this TR with real life stuff, but it's too good not to share!

I GOT THE JOB!!!

I am absolutely THRILLED about it! All of the stress and waiting was worth it! And even better, they're giving me MORE than I asked for when it comes to compensation!

Thankfully people here were really nice about it, even my CEO who I was nervous to tell! I put in my two weeks, so I'll have a few days off before I start, buuuut yeah. I am just so excited right now and had to share it with you guys.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for sending me good luck and good vibes. It all paid off and worked out for the best, so thanks so much you guys for rooting for me.

I promise I'll respond to stuff tonight and have a new update tomorrow. I also need to catch up on other people's TRs like crazy!

I love being a Disney tour guide! And it definitely is kind of bizarre to see people at Disney that you would never see in a normal circumstance.

Yeah it was actually pretty fun! It was just weird to see them there and then spend a ton of time with them, if that makes sense, hahaha.

I'm glad that your server at Cape May Cafe was better for your breakfast than at dinner. That's always so unsettling, it could turn you off of going back.

It was a total 180 and was absolutely wonderful! I just was so disappointed by our previous experience, but it all worked out in the end. I will definitely plan to return to Cape May next time!

Hey ... getting all caught up again and love the continuation of the TR. Totally understand that writing about these memories is a perfect respite from the daily stress.

YAY! And it really is! It's just nice to go back to your happy place where you don't have to worry about anything. Whiiich is part of the reason I'll be totally bummed out when this TR ends.

We haven't been back to Raglan Road in our last three trips ... not really sure why except I think we had so many other places we wanted to try . That said, I so remember loving it and now your pictures and recap have moved it to the top of my list of considerations.

Totally understandable, buuuut I think you need to go back next trip! It's just so delightful every time. Never have eaten something there that I didn't love!

I know what you mean about meeting up with someone from work at DW ... in my case, it was a chance meeting - but wow - it just felt somehow like the "real world" had collided with my "Dis World" and somehow torn a weird hole in the continuum.

Haha EXACTLY! I was like, nope, having "outsiders" is just not what I thought would happen! I mean it was fun, but it was definitely different than what we'd been doing before. It's always weird when you're with people who have never been to Disney and don't necessarily "get it".

Thanks for updating on the job situation ... being in HR, I understand all of the necessary (albeit often frustrating) "hoops" that we have to send people through in the current market. Being amongst the finalists at this point is a testimony to your qualifications. I hope you get the position!!

Hi! I just wanted to say that I am just now following your trip report and I hope you aren't finished yet!
It's so cool that you are from Seattle! I lived there for 4 years when my husband first joined the Navy (technically we lived in Everett and I worked in Mountlake Terrace but I was in Seattle as much as I could be!) That was 11 years ago. Now, we live just north of Jacksonville, FL and it takes me 2 hours and 45 minutes to get to Disney! My husband is currently deployed, but the kids and I were at Disney in Jan from the 2cd through the 9th.
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say HI!

HI! And thank you for commenting! That is awesome that you lived out here for 4 years! I haven't spent a ton of time up in the Everett/Mountlake Terrace area, but I do love the PNW! And I am jealous you are so close to Disney. Definitely must make trips a heck of a lot easier to pull off. I heard it was pretty chilly during that first week in January! Hope you still had tons of fun!

Glad that your breakfast at CMC worked out better! I've only been there for dinner, but that doesn't come with the opportunity of seeing the characters in their beachwear!

Oh it was ten times better then the 2nd experience! I love the dinner but the breakfast was also wonderful! The characters and the meal itself were really great. We might have to do dinner and breakfast there again next trip!

Too funny you met up with your coworker at Disney! And that you were playing tour guide to them! I actually didn't realize you couldn't take a bus from AK to MK, I guess because you can take busses directly to Epcot from there I just assumed you could!

Haha yeah, it was just so weird! But it worked out and we had a blast. And yeah, you would think you could buuut nope, you have to go to TTC, then catch a monorail over to MK. Kind of lame, though I could've sworn I heard rumors but having buses starting to show up from parks to MK soon. I might be wrong on that though!

I haven't been on dis for a while so I missed your post about your prospective job, hope it's not too late to wish you luck!

It definitely was not too late to wish me luck, and I appreciate it, because I think it helped! I got the offer today, and am VERY excited about it!

I'm glad yall had a better Cape May experience this time! The food looks good and I LOVE THE CHARACTERS' BEACH OUTFITS!!!! Omg ahhh. I really wanted to make an ADR there for breakfast so that I could visit my FRINSA (Favorite Resort I've Never Stayed At) and show my family the wonder that is the Beach Club, BUT, the dang restaurant is getting refurbished from mid-July until the DAY AFTER WE LEAVE. Seriously though...

Me too. That 2nd time was just sad. But yes! The characters were so cute in their outfits and I just wanted be friends with all of them. I saw that they are refurbing it and that is SO LAME! I hate when things open up the day after you leave. It's just salt to the wound. Soooo yeah, I'm sorry you guys won't go there. BUT at least there is Beaches and Cream!!

That's really weird that your manager was there at the same time as you. At least you are friends with her though, otherwise I'd be like ew get out of my happy place yall. Hahah.

Hahaha um, I kind of was like ew at first just in case they made fun of our love for Disney, buuut they didn't and we ended up having fun. I didn't mind spending a day giving them a tour. They were super thankful for us because they kept saying how they would never have gotten as much as we did done without us, so that was nice!

I hope you get the job you were interviewing for. I have worked for the same people for 23 years so I can't imagine trying to find a new job. You are so brave to try.

As you know, I got it! But thank you, it's very exciting. I'd only been with my current company for around 2 years, but it was time to go. Thankfully this one worked out, because I'd looked before I have to say, it's a tough job market!

On another note, I finally got an iPhone and my new Disney cover is on the way. Yay!!

That's so exciting!!! What cover did you get?! I love having Disney iPhone covers!

The photos I take on it are bad though, so any tips you can give would be most welcome.

Okay is it a 4 or 4S? Either way, both of those have great cameras! My suggestion is to tap on the area you want the phone to focus on. I've noticed that definitely helps my photos a LOT. I don't think some people realize you can actually touch the screen and tell the camera where to focus. It does better when there is more light!

Good luck on the job front! I know it can be seriously stressful... Especially when it's a job you really want!
