Northwest seating chart?

I was checking out Northwest seating chart arangements for the day I'm flying - Jan 21. It's the seating chart you click on to see what seats are available. I noticed on several of the flights that day there were plenty of seats available and then just and hour later almost all of the seats were taken. Are those seating charts accurate? Or do they fill them in as unavailable to make you think it's almost sold out?

Those seating charts are pretty accurate. Sure they will change as people make different arrangements or change their seats. But they usually reflect the actual seating available at that time, baring the occasional web glitch.
