Just got notice today that NW had changed my flight times (we're flying on frequent flyer tickets and I feared we had little recourse). My DD and I were given flights that would leave us with a 6 hour(!) layover in MSP on the way to TPA. Essentially, we would leave Peoria at 6:00am and arrive in TPA at 5:30PM. Aaaaagh!
I called to question this change (trembling, I must admit) and was given the NICEST airline clerk I've yet to do business with. She said NW did not want to give us that long of a layover and that she would try to by-pass the restrictions on Frequent Flyer tickets to shorten the wait. There was apparently no way to do that and still connect in MSP so she connected us in Detroit. The long and short of it is that she by-passed the restrictions and gave us a morning flight that is far better than our original flight.
