Both times that I've flown as been with NWA and I really enjoyed both flights. The first was from DTW to Chicago in January 2006. Everything went smoothly. No delays. In fact, I think we arrived in Chicago early. The second was from DTW to MCO in January 2007. NWA did change our flight time by about 20 minutes from 6:40 am to 7:00 am, but I was happy with that since I really didn't want to leave at 6:40!
We arrived in Orlando early, almost at the time we were originally scheduled so it was all good. They also changed our time by about 5 minutes on our return flight, but again it wasn't a problem. We got back to MI early too. I love the McNamara terminal. It is so nice, though it is really large, but we pretty much always take the shuttle to get to our gate, which always seems to be at the end. We drive down to Detroit to leave because its cheaper than the airport 6 miles from my house. Also flights out of MBS all stop in Detroit to change planes. My sister had an experience on NWA in 1999 when her plane sat on the runway at MCO for over an hour while they fixed something, but she has flown with NWA since. My friend has flown with NWA all over the world and really likes them. The other reason I like NWA is that I've been able to get some good deals. We got our flight to Orlando for $117 including the taxes. My sister and friend paid $138 for their flight to Orlando in Oct. 2005. I believe ours to Chicago was $117. They've had some good fare sales.
Have a good flight!
