Hi Gydell and everyone...

We cancel the Batlic last weekend which we were so looking forward to....

As it is exchange rates are very poor at the moment...

We changed it to Dover to Barcelona which we can afford it...

I still pop in and chat with you okay...

So sorry to hear this....We will miss you!

Anyone know how long the train ride is from London to DLP?

I read on raileurope.com that it's around 2 and 1/2 hours. Not bad.:thumbsup2 That's the site where you can buy tickets and everything. So it's got all the information. When you look up DLP, it's not under DLP. It's Marne something. You should be able to just start typing and it will fill in the rest.

We took the reverse Eurostar train from DLP to London.

The Eurostar train station is right in between Disney property. We wheeled our luggage to the station, and we even treated ourselves to First Class tickets. It was fun. 2 hours 35 minutes.

That's great news on the job prospect. Good luck and let us know.:thumbsup2

I've been out here lurking for a while, we're on this cruise and pretty exicited. But now I'm distressed...there are 4 of us and we're staying at Park Plaza for 2nights pre (only hotel with availability)and Chancery Court for 1 post night booked through Disney. My reservation's with Costco so I couldn't talk directly to Disney but I'm paying $1140 /night at the Park Plaza and "only"$758 at the Chancery Court. Does that sound right? It's contradicting what everyone is saying.

I am booking my hotel reservations myself since through Disney seems so much more expensive. I have a reservation for Park Plaza for $266 a night for June 9-12. I have read some reviews on trip advisor that have not been very glowing about this hotel. So I am looking into staying at Chancery Court on the above dates. They contacted me yesterday and I hope to confirm a reservation today with them for $405 a night. Hope this helps.

WELCOME! Tell us about yourself.
I went directly through Park Plaza and got a rate of 200lbs a night. There are 3 of us and we got a suite that sleeps 4. You might want to comtact them directly.
Tammy is from Nashville too!

I'm looking at both options right now. Depending on the difference we may still end up booking through DCL just for the convience factor of having them take care of everything. I'm still waiting for my TA to get back to me though.:surfweb:

I have been in contact today with Chancery Court and here is the reply I received concerning a AAA discount.

I am writing to confirm that we do offer the AAA rate and it is available on the requested dates. The rate is £213 in a Deluxe room per night plus VAT excluding breakfast.

Once I confirm their rate rules (which will not be until Monday because I received an out of office reply from my last e-mail that states they will not be back in the office until Monday), I am going to book it. Hope this helps.

Not that I'm counting but........48 days until I leave for WDW and 442 days until I leave for London! :cool1:

Hello! I live in Murfreesboro, which is right outside of Nashville. Good to see another Tennessean on the cruise.:thumbsup2

That's what I'm looking at. DVC points hopefully at the Disneyland Hotel. Right in the middle of the action.:thumbsup2

The Disneyland Hotel looks amazing, it literally straddles the park entrance. We've walked around and had a really special meal at their California Grill - frighteningly this was nearly 10 years ago now, our honeymoon. I was tickled pink by the fact the dh's menu had the prices on and mine didn't - so I could just choose without feeling guilty!

The scale of the place is so different that there are other hotels which are also pretty close, easily walking distance to the parks - Hotel New York I think is the next closest and then the two we have stayed at Sequoia Lodge and Newport Bay. Both lovely :-)

Had hoped we'd get back to DLP for our 10th anniversary but with dh changing jobs AGAIN (I know he is blessed to be in work so shouldn't grumble) we're unlikely to have the money or the time. Oh well. Still holding out that the exchange rate will improve enough in our favour for us to be on the cruise :-) Can't help getting excited each time I think about it!

Good Afternoon Cruisers!

This working is keeping me from posting:lmao: Scott and I have both been very busy with our jobs, at least mine is only temporary, so I should be "just retired" again in about 8 weeks - but those might be really long 8 weeks!

Peter - hope you get to go back to work soon - it sounds like you want to!

Emily - yes, let us know when you are done our planning for us:lmao:

Weather has been really nice here, but supposed to snow on Monday - I knew that winter was not done with us yet!

We really liked Disney Land Hotel when we were there, it was great to eat breakfast overlooking the entrance, and to just walk down stairs and be at the entrance to the park!

Have a great day everyone!
