So this is why the Tortola thread is so quiet!! :lmao: ....I'm the Jackie mentioned above and FREAKING OUT abount being able to come up with the $$ at 120 days, but I so want this cruise to work! Fingers crossed and lottery tickets being pick up too!

Hey Jackie! Another Tortolly cool cruiser from another thread!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: It's going to be a proper reunion... :dance3:

Just been looking through my pictures of when I went to Moscow and Leningrad in a snowy February 1991, on a college trip. I turned 17 the day we left to go there, wonder how much it has changed in the past 17 1/2 years!

Claire ;)

Lol, me too!!

Oh just thought of another name -

'Northern sights and fantasmic delights!'

Although not really the season there is the off chance of catching the Northern Lights.

Claire ;)

You could have "Northern sights and MAGICal delights".

I don't know if snow is possible, but we did look at the average temps for that area and it will definately be a little cooler than we're used to. Around the 70's for most of the ports for highs. Sounds nice for summer time.

The 70's sounds heavenly for 'city' excursions...not so hot so you can go-go-go all day!

Well, the Christmas cruise is another that I'm considering and someone was just speculating that the Christmas cruise may be as much as the Baltic ones! :scared1: (I think based on the DVC points chart that was just released.) So if they were the same the alternate cost differences would be:

Air fare round trip to Orlando vs London
Pre-cruise hotel stay (and London may require an extra day due to jet lag)
Dollar to pound ratio for above
Cost difference in transfers to ship
More ($) excursions (more history!) for Baltic
Full payment in March or August (ish)
Cat 10 for 3 in Baltic vs having to have a more expensive Cat 6 for Christmas (required by sister)

non finincial considerations:
leaving Phoenix in hot June vs lovely December
possibility of seeing the new ship at the shipyards (I think that would be so cool....would skip Berlin for that)

must consider:
Monica will decide against Baltic on DCL and I'll be put out of my misery!:lmao: :lmao: I'm pretty sure I'm capable of rationalizing whatever/wherever I end up!

Pinky....loved Northern Sights and MAGICal Delights :thumbsup2

.

I wonder how they're going to do showing off the new ship? I would think it would be a huge insurance risk taking people to a working shipyard. Does anyone know how far the shipyard is from Warnemunde? I really don't want to have to choose between Berlin and seeing the new ship. I guess it would depend on what you got to see of the new ship, but I can't see going all the way to Germany to see the new ship when I can see it when it finished and when this could be my only chance to see Berlin.

:lmao:
You know, I just told myself (a few minutes ago), so what if it takes a couple extra months AFTER the trip to pay it off...if I was going to be using that same money to save to a trip a few months later?????:cool1:
