Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

We were out of town this past weekend. When I checked the mail this morning our cruise docs were waiting for me!:cool1:

Unbelieveable!!!!!!!!!!! Someone has their act together at DCL!

I have room 7631 assigned for the 5/26 and the 6/5 Repo. I rebooked the 6/12 Baltic to get the lower price and I just got my room assignment. Room 7631!! Same room, no moving. Yeah!!!

Awesome!!!

Just spoke to my dad who drives tour buses around Europe and he said he was in Oslo Norway and it was snowing heavily!:scared1:

:scared1::scared1:

no docs and no room dance here too!

BTW - does anyone have a 6-year-old girl coming on this cruise??? There seem to be a great group of 9-year-old girls, but my 6-year-old is really upset that she doesn't have a "friend" on the cruise yet! :sad1:

My DD is 5.5 and would love to meet your DD. I also have a 7yr old DS.

Which hotel? We are flying into Heathrow and taking the tube to ours (Ren. Chancery Hotel--probably not spelled right!). It is a straight shot--one line, exit Holborn and walk a block.
They are staying at Park Plaza Wesminister Bridge.

I have returned from my WDW trip!

Now to get things tied up for this one!

In the next few days I will update the website. If you have not done so already, either PM me or send a note to the email and let me know your room numbers.

While we were there, we stopped in the Norway pavilion (and I did get a Rice Cream... had to be neighborly :rolleyes1:thumbsup2:lmao:). Some very nice CM's gave us some good advice of things to see. They were so very excited to tell us about their home. We may change our plans.... One thing they did say, is to be sure to see the Opera House. It is brand new and we can see it from the ship as we sail in.

One CM said.... "well, the snow SHOULD be melted by then" :scared1::rotfl2: And actually it was 98 degrees outside, snow would have been a welcome site.

Congrats to everyone that are doing the Doc dance. Ours normally go to the agency, then to my TA then to us. She is currently on vacation, so we shall see when they arrive.

Time is ticking!!

Hi!
If you have recieved a pm from me would you please confirm this so that I may double check my work.
I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!
Rita

No doc dance yet--we booked through AAA, and our agent is on a trip all week...I went over there and had another agent call Disney, who said our docs were mailed April 28, so I'm hoping to do the dance tomorrow!

No docs in the regular mail today:sad1: But when we took our furkid out for a walk we saw the Fed Ex truck go down the street, so we did what anyone else would do, we stopped and watched to see if the truck would turn onto our street :rolleyes1 I told my husband 'get ready to run back to the house' but the truck never turned:sad2: aaggghhhh!

I sent you a PM.

Everyone - does anyone like to do cross-stitch? :confused3 Just trying to figure out Secret Mickey and Fish Extender gifts, but don't want to put together a craft kit if folks aren't interested....Let me know.

I've sent out the other half of the list. If you can send me a quick pm to confirm you got it would be great. If you got your pm from Rita, then send it to her.

Here is a link to the post with the SM info.

If you have any questions, please pm either Rita or myself.

I am still waiting to hear back from DCL on info for our meet and reveal.

Let's have fun. Try to spread your gifts out over the cruise. Be creative! Have fun, and let's try to keep our identities hidden until the reveal!

I sent you a PM.

I attempted to do cross stitch years ago and could never figure it out and therefore never finished what I started. My DH however could probably do it.

Finally, finally, finally booked our airfare, hotels and transfers! Now I can work on our itineraries at the ports and making FE gifts.

We are coming straight from the airport to Dover on the 11th. We are staying in London for 4 days after the cruise. I decided to hire a private car service, simply because our experience with a lot of luggage and two kids on trains and subways last year in France was a bit hectic for us. As it turns out, the cost of it really wasn't bad!

So far for ports, I am doing the following:
Oslo: on our own: Viking Museum, Norwegian Folk Museum and Akershus
Cop: on our own: Canal cruise, storget, palace, and Trivoli
St. Pet: We have the ball on the first night and since they shifted the time earlier we can't make ANY of the other excursions. It seems like a huge hassle and costly for a visa, so I'm trying to get a private car.
day 2: herm & pete excursion
Helsinki: I need to pick an excursion here
Stockholm: Vasa and old town on our own

A Belkin Mini Surge Protector with 2 USB Chargers for your iPod/iPhones. It has three outlets.

Wow! I didn't even know this existed. I don't even care if it is on sale or not. I want it!!

I posted this on the Baltic thread but I thought I would post it here also and see what my shipmates were planning:

I am still trying to figure out what to do in Copenhagen.

I think we are going to do a canal cruise, walk some of the stroget, buy a danish, see the palace and finish in trivoli. (If we have time for all of that)

I saw a recommendation for the Maison Dieu on this thread, but they have no rooms left for the night of the 11th.

Does anyone have any other recommendations for a family of five???? :confused3

I had the hardest time with the Dover hotels (or lack thereof). I have two small children, so didn't want to do the B&B thing. We are staying at Premier Dover - EFT. We have five people, so we had to get two rooms!

DCL must have hired someone who is thinking outside the box!

HAHA Don't pass out!!!

I'm not terribly excited about what I see in Rostock.

I wasn't either. I've been to Berlin before. I thought it would be boring for the kids. We might rent a car and go to Hamburg. We are a toy train family and they have the largest set up in the world there.

Just called DCL AGAIN! There is a Villian ball and a Pirate night(on the 9th night).

I need a suitcase just for costumes, then!

DS and BIL docs arrived yesterday so they are doing the dance:cool1:
They just learned that since they did not book the hotel through Disney even though it is a Disney hotel that their transfers don't work from the airport to the hotel. :scared1: Any suggestions?? Thanks Sue

WHAT??? When I talked to Disney, their hotels were full and they told me I could get the transfers even though I had to book the hotel on my own. In fact, they told me that I could book any hotel and get the transfers, but it would only be dropping us off at their hotel. As it turns out, I didn't want to deal with the hassle and we booked other transportation. I would have been really mad though if I would have done it the way DCL suggested and have had it not worked out.

I don't have any girls, but I have two boys (5 and 7)! :)

Just spoke to my dad who drives tour buses around Europe and he said he was in Oslo Norway and it was snowing heavily!:scared1:

Whoa!:scared1:

Pixie3, the Belkin charger is really nice!!!! We're actually using it at home right now for the laptops and iPods. It will definitely be a nice space saver in the room. It will definitely be going on every trip with us from now on.

I sent you a PM.

My daughter and I like to do cross-stitch. We aren't very skilled but enjoy trying it.

Doing the doc dance in Utah! :cheer2:

We now have our docs for both cruises........

Now, if I could just get to packing. :lmao:

One for Utah. Yeah!!! Could they make it a double??? :woohoo:
Still doing the no docs dance.
