Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

We were Cat 6 Gty and have been allocated #6032. Glad we booked the Gty now. A nice big credit to spend onboard!

No docs for us yet, but we are in Australia.
 We are doing the no documents dance. LOL.

It's May:banana: I can finally say 'next month I will be sailing the Baltic':cheer2: I'm so excited I can't imagine how I will feel June 1st when I can say 'this month I will be sailing the Baltic' Already having nightmares about my FE gifts!!!!:lmao: Haven't gotten any documents and not sure if they are coming directly to us or to our TA and then she will give them to us:confused3 Oh well, I got the electronic airline tickets so I'm going regardless:rotfl2:

Have a great weekend everyone

Marianne:flower3:

It must depend on the agency then cause we always have made our reservations with AAA and our documents have always been sent to AAA. :confused3

Fed x package was an apple iPad camera adapter,

Will keep an eye on the mail,

What do ya all think about the rain forest room pass, worth it or will we be too busy?

Sorry Scott I know you wanted the documents but the adapter was also nice!
I think my db (dear brother) and his wife are also getting the rain forest room pass since the weather outside might be to cool to swim.

:)Yes, the guests are invited to wear their favorite villain costumes the night of the new show! :maleficen

Yeah! Thanks For answering!

We are also doing the no document dance!:banana::banana:
But like I said even when they come they go to AAA, our TA reviews them to make sure everything is OK then we either pick them up or she sends them to us.

Just got home a couple of hours ago! Sure wish I was still there!!! DH had to go to the dr. with chest pains this week and has all kinds of test scheduled for next week. The dr. thinks it's just stress but wants to be sure. I wish June 5th would hurry up.....

You can be upgraded up until the day you check in at the port.

Has anyone without a gyt been upgraded yet???

I hope your husband is feeling better and all his symptoms are just stress. I'm an Intensive Care Unit Nurse and I know how upsetting all those tests can be. But hopefully he gets them all done then he gets the thumbs up sign from his doctors! :thumbsup2

Okay, just spent every spare minute of this weekend (between multiple birthday parties, play dates, ballet classes, etc.) reading every post on thread #2 (not even going to attempt thread #1! :scared1:). Got some great info! You guys really have this nailed - and I thought DH was a DCL planner...:lmao:

So, I have a few questions that I hope you might be able to help with (since I'm cramming 2 years of planning into 6 weeks...):

- I saw a lot of discussion about a Leeds Castle excursion on the way back from the port. But I can't find that option anywhere on the DCL site. Is there information about it? How much does it cost? And how do you book it? We need transport back to London from the ship, so thought this might be a nice way to do it.

- I saw that there was discussion of a room tour for a sea day. We did this on a prior cruise and had a good time. We are in GTY 12's, so no idea what cabins we'll actually have, but we'd be happy to participate if this is still on.

- I know about the dinner in Dover (we're in for that one!) and about the reveal meet on day 11. But on our previous cruises, we've always had a DisMeet on the first day, either boarding or first full-day on the ship, so that everyone could meet everyone else. Are we going to do that? If so, where and when? (DH needs to update his schedule...Did I mention he likes to plan???) If not, I wouldn't mind helping to organize it if folks are interested and someone who knows who we need to contact to reserve the space can point me in the right direction.

- Palo group brunch: I'm fairly certain there aren't any spots left for this, but...if you've got space for two more, DH and I would love to join you! We did this last summer and had a blast with our group.

- Has anyone heard of any wine/beer/vodka/tequila/etc. tastings? I know they have to be reserved, so just curious when they might be if DCL has any idea??? What about behind-the-scenes tours and galley tours???

- Mickeywatch, carolmb, WeloveABD, Rach7 - sent you all PMs. Looks like we've got a great crew of 8/9/10 year old girls on board. Thought there might be an opportunity for a special activity or pre-cruise introductions.

- Finally, does anyone have a recommendation on where to stay after the cruise? We have a flight at 6:30am on the 25th, so we'd really like to be very close to Heathrow. Just don't have a clue on any decent hotels around there that might be family-friendly (5 of us).

Wow! Okay - now I can focus on packing...:scared:

Laura and I offered to coordinate a room tour and open our room as an example of a Cat 4. I believe Lynn was the only other to respond as willing to open her room.

I took the lack of response as no one really wanted to do a room tour. Laura is in Paris until the end of next week but I am sure that she and I are still willing to coordinate if the group wants to have a room tour.

We've always met on the side of the ship next to the dock on 10th level. Just let me know!

We can probably squeeze you in since we have the min needed for the room and I know that it can hold a couple more. I won't know for a couple of weeks if we get it but will add you just in case.

We're staying at the hotel that is connected to the airport. We leave at 7am on the 25th.

Just called DCL AGAIN! There is a Villian ball and a Pirate night(on the 9th night). The Villian ball sounds like about 30 minutes in the atrium after the Villians show. I hope this doesn't change!

Hi gydell,

Welcome back and hope DH is better soon.:cheer2: I will call you this week. Lunch would be fun but I still don't know about dinner :confused3- we have too many graduations that weekend and we leave on May 24! :cool1::cool1::cool1: But my older DD broke her foot last week and may still be on crutches!

Oh, I will be crossing my fingers for your husband's test to come back okay.

I've been seeing people referring to GTY or GYT, what is that?

I am also doing the no document dance:banana:

Thanks for the info about the theme nights...but does this mean people get dressed up (yep, first time cruiser here). Should I just pack a pirate hat for everyone?

Finally got a handle on the whole FE thing (thanks 3princessMommy), so is there a list I need to get/join to work out how many gifts I need to get together? Do people make their own door hangers (does this means I have to dust off my sewing machine?).

Thanks,
Rach

You can dress for theme nights. Pirate night we will dress since we have been on DCL before and have our outfits. Villians night just the dgs will dress. I think there will be less people dressed in costumes since it is a longer cruise.

I bought our FE on ebay. No list, just give as you would like!

Gydell~ Pixie dust for you and DH. Hope that all will go well.

Rach~ If you go to the first page and go the directory it will tell you a breakdown of cabins, adts and kids.
I usually plan on one gift per cabin. But do as your comfortable.
I dont know if you have time to dust off your sewing machine or order online but you can use just about anything as a FE, cute totes or shopping bags for example. But make sure to bring a zip tie to secure it.

We have done the Wine tasting and Tequila tasting before. They are on at sea days and are in the daily Navigator. You can go to guest relations and find out which days they are offered and reserve them. We really wanted to do the wine tasting the first cruise and did this on the first or second day. I really want to the the martini tasting if it is offered this cruise.:goodvibes

We would be interested in meeting up on the first day. What time is this planned for? Also, when is the Palo brunch? I must have missed it when I reviewed all the old posts. Would you have room for 2 more?
