Sorry just could not help myself.... Planning London stay and in a Python Mood...

Sign me up!!

This has been a real floating reservation for us; family and life needs ever changing. I've never had to switch plans so much. We were originally on the Transatlantic and switched to the 6/24 Baltic then to the 6/12 Baltic and now have to cancel our planned vacation til August. But am quite grateful to be able to be planning such a vacation. Will probably still do the Northern Capitalls cruise just on another line.

Will be watching for trip reports -- to gather port info for our trip.
Enjoy!

So what movies does everyone think we'll get to see??

I'm hoping they'll be showing

Alice in Wonderland in 3D
DisneyNature Oceans
Prince of Persia
ToyStory 3 3D (premieres June 18th -- midnight showing before our day in St Peterburg??)

I would think Toy Story 3 would be 99.9% guaranteed since it's supposed to premier while we're sailing. I would count on a PremEar at Sea for that one.

And I would definitely anticipate them to still be showing Alice in Wonderland b/c I anticipate that one to be a pretty successful movie for them. I plan on seeing that one when it comes out next month, but I'll definitely take advantage of seeing it on the ship again!!!! I never miss a Johnny Depp movie.:thumbsup2

I just arrived home to find a FedEx package that I wan't expecting. When I opened it up I found it was a nice little booklet from DCL welcoming us to the cruise and giving us a little bit of info on each port and how things work on the ship. I don't know if everybody has had one but here's a few key bits of useful info about Day 1 for those that haven't had it yet:

  • Disney Magic will be berthed at Terminal 2 at the Port of Dover
  • The Cruise Terminal opens at 10 a.m. and boarding begins around 1 p.m.
  • If you are staying at a London hotel arranged through DCL stop by the DCL hospitality desk one day before you sail to receive important info on departure times and luggage transfer
  • If you are staying at a London hotel arranged yourself call a DCL representative at 800-395-9374 and select option 1 to receive important info

That would be cool to have the PremEar at Sea -- especially since we don't get into St Petersburg until noon. :3dglasses

We decided to stay at Number 1 Guest House in Dover on June 10th and 11th. I wanted to stay in Canterbury, but it will be nice to just have a place to drop our luggage.

We can always take the train up to Canterbury. We want to walk around the cliffs of Dover, so that's why we are staying there. Also, easier to get to the ship earlier! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Thanks! When did you pay in full? Maybe they are waiting to send them out once you are paid. We paid in full this past Friday!!:eek:

I see a few friends have left us, and suspect that there may be more in the next week or so. The update to the site will be soon.

Hi ... We will be staying in Dover on June 10 and 11th as well. We are at the Maison Dieu, and also want to visit Canterbury. We just may end up meeting up on the train!!

Hey, that's cool. I just got a message from a friend on facebook who lives in the south of England, and they aregoing to try to come over to Dover or Canterbury to wander around.

I think I am getting too excited now!:jumping1:

Thanks for the info! I had just come to ask if anyone knew just that! So ..... how does boarding actually work, the earlier we arrive the earlier we board? Turn up early for ticket, go away and come back at a set time?? Being local we should be able to get there anytime if its worth being early .... oh and meet up with anyone staying in Dover perhaps - especially if you visit our favourite castle!

When we went on the Med cruise boarding was a complete disaster, they later told us it was because of a problem docking so they had to un dock and try again. But the result was we literally stood in line waiting for about 4 hours which was no fun with a baby (well for anyone I would think). They could have told us and let us stay in the waiting area with seats/ shops/ cafes etc ...

we're due to settle the balance of the trip on Friday - frightening but very very exciting too!
