Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

There's lots of shopping opportunities around Atlanta.

I know how you feel. I'm the one in the family that would rather be at the aiprort earlier than at the last minute. It drives friends and family nuts. You just never know what's going to happen on the way to the airport or checking in or going through security etc. I guess I'm not very reassuring am I?:sad2: But I did look at TripAdvisor and there's 205 things listed to do in Atlanta:eek: There is an aquarium, botanical garden and a Coca Cola place to name a few. Being as I'm a nervous nellie, I would sleep in a little, have a leisurly breakfast wander around a nearby mall (trying not to buy anything :rotfl:) and would be at the airport by mid afternoon because then I could get through security and maybe have dinner before boarding. And don't we have to be at the airport early if we are on international flights? Sorry, I'm rambling:guilty:

Did anyone else get an e-mail today from DCL? I was so excited because I thought maybe we were going to be allowed to make reservations earlier than expected or maybe upgraded or something special. But it was just a reminder to make reservations on the 14th:sad2: Like we could forget

Have a good Friday!

Marianne

Thanks guys! I do like to shop. Maybe I can stay in a hotel with a pool. Then we could sleep late, check out, have lunch, hang out at the pool, then get to the airport early so I can do as Marianne said and get through security and then have dinner at the airport. I think British airlines has a nice lounge and we booked premium economy so we can use the lounges.

80 days until I leave here headed to Atlanta and my B2B2B!!:woohoo:

Doing the 3 month dance! :dance3:

For some reason I got up this morning thinking I could book tonight. What a let down finding out I have to wait another day!

Hello all! It is good to see our group growing. I am looking for a reasonable hotel in Atlanta to stay pre and post from our cruise. I am tempted to book a flight on Pacific Wings (turboprop) from Nashville to Atlanta to avoid the drive as I live less than 30 minutes from the Nashville airport. However, I am a bit scared of the turboprop. With my luck, it will be raining like crazy and lightening when I leave causing the plane to bounce around and scaring the willies out of me.:scared1: I could book Delta or others but they are EXPENSIVE..... Guess we are driving.

Tammy when are you leaving? There's a Springfield Suites next to the airport. It's new and if you have AAA the rate is $89 with a week of free parking. After that parking is $25 a week. It is the closest hotel to the airport and it has just opened up. We are staying there in April before I head to Mexico. It is connected with the Marta so you can jump on and the 1st stop is the airport.

Sunday is fast approaching.
For those of us on the west coast, does that mean we can start booking at 10:00pm on Sat night?

It means 9:01 pm on the west coast. East coast is 12:00 but they suggest waiting until a little after. :surfweb:We are gold level and did not have a problem getting in however do not use the back button on your internet brouser. I did and it kicked us off!:scared1: Took 45 minutes to get back on line and a couple of the nights at Palo were gone. When I check yesterday the only Palo reservation showing is for the night in Copenhagen. Palo Brunch looks booked up. However the will be some reservations available if you get on the ship early. Good luck to everyone. My ds and her husband are in the last group as this is their first Disney cruise. I hope they will be able to get on the same shore excursions as us. We were able to book dinner at Palo with them but nothing else

Hmmm, wonder how that works with daylight savings...? Seems like that doesn't officially happen till 2 am though. :confused3

We too got the email from Disney yesterday and I thought UPGRADE! Of course it was not:sad2: This is our fourth DCL cruise and never have had an upgrade. Oh well still fun getting the remainder! By the way, I double checked exactly what time the daylight saving time change is this weekend - it is 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning so it should not effect our 12 midnight east coast reservation time. Started to think about earlier today and thought I had to check this out. I'm made my list and I'm checking it twice so HOPEFULLLY get my first choices and Palo.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info.
All the die hards can have our Palos. 4 seats avail.
Good luck on the bookings.

OMG! I just had a horrible thought:scared1: What if after all this build up to reserving shore excursions tomorrow night, we forget! :guilty: See, I can find anything to worry about:lmao: My husband assures me that he will NOT forget:thumbsup2 Good luck to everyone making reservations tomorrow night!

Marianne:happytv:

Marianne, not only will your DH not forget, but I'll be on here posting and will make sure you do the same! You have to promise that you will post as soon as you know what you got, ok? We westcoasters have to stick together!:goodvibes

Good Morning Cruisers!

Speaking of washing:laundy: I saw an ad for Purex 3 in 1 laundry sheets, we bought a package. They seem to work great.....They would pack easily....they have detergent, a color booster and fabric softener all in one.....I sound like a commercial!!!! Anyway, you put them in with the wash and include the sheet with the clothes in the dryer. No liquids to spill.....that is what I am bringing for the cruise!

I saw the Purex sheets and bought some for the trip, but I had not checked them out - glad to hear that they work as advertized!

Thanks!!!! We got his ashes yesterday. Each day has been getting a little easier. We've already started the process of finding our next baby. We're being very thorough in our search. We don't want our next baby to have to fight heart disease like Ozzy did.

I was going to say that for us, one of the best ways to move on was to get another puppy - we always get another one as soon as possible after the passing of one of our dogs.

Tammy - we have to drive to Denver - only 2 hours - but to avoid leaving our car there for a month, we are renting a car to drive down then renting another to drive back - it would still be driving, but your car would not be in a parking lot for the entire length of your trip. We also overnight in Denver on the way out, and this time on the way back since we arrive there at 10:30 PM.

Have a great week all!

This worried me too! I set my iphone alarm, something I hardly ever use, for 11:55 p.m. That alarm is so annoying I knew it would do the trick.:rotfl:

Turns out I have good reason to worry. My husband reminded me that we DID forget about the reservations on our last Disney Cruise through the Panama Canal:scared1: And we remembered the next morning and scrambled to get our stuff. So it turns out I'm not a worry wart for nothing:rotfl2: But it ain't happening this time:sad2: The iphone alarm is a great idea, gotta run and find the phone:rotfl:

Marianne

Morning everyone... I'll be on at midnight booking ... chat with you all then! Just hope that the traffic isn't too much! I remember the Panama Canal cruise. It was incredibly slow! At least this time, there won't be as many of us!

Good luck to everyone! I'm with Heidi (has) .. I won't be battling for Palo's, so two more seats are available!

We got our alarms set and doing our finger limbering exercises for our fingers tonight. All in anticipation of the midnight hour. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hope the system can take us all online booking and doesn't crash tonight.

I have a bad cold! But the family says don't worry this won't stop or slow down our booking capability tonight. Maybe I should go take a nap in preparation of the midnight hour.

5 hours and 37 minutes!

Finally! It will be nice to get this last piece into place--hopefully there are excusion slots left for the trips we want to take!! (If not we'll be booking a lot of Hop On/Hop Off bus trips tomorrow)

GOOD LUCK

Gydell - wonder if that happened same with Panama Canal :laughing:

No I dont think that will be same anyway, you will be fine..
