Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

So who's going to Alaska? It hit the Vancouver paper that the Wonder is "suggersted" to be there in 2012.

I'm interested to see what's in store for 2011. I think for us it will either be the Wonder's PC cruise or the Dream's maiden voyage cruise as long as it is an extended cruise.

I don't know what I think of this tiered system, I guess I'll know better once they have all the kinks worked out. I'd also like to see what effect it will have on concierge since that's what we normally book. Part of that was the 105 booking perk (not sure if this will be moved) and now I'm not so sure how much of a perk the advanced window will be.

You know I will be going to Alaska with Disney! I have never been and this is a great way to go!:cool1:

Just watched the 2011 announcement. Here's a run-down:
  • Speaker was DCL president. He has an "easy button" that plays the ship's horn. Boy, they could sell those!!
  • Wonder will sail out of Los Angeles "home". Summer in Alaska, rest of the year doing 7-night cruises of Mex Riviera. Alaska cruises will sail out of Vancouver with stop at Tracy Arm Fjord, Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway. No statement on length, but I'm assuming a week so there are some days at sea.
  • Magic will go back to the Med in the summer of 2011. No mention of doing the Baltic again.
  • Didn't announce when the Dream will come online, but sounds like both Dream and Magic will work out of Port Canaveral when Magic isn't in Europe. They're going to offer 3, 4, 5 and 7-night Bahamas/Caribbean, including more Castaway Cay "double dips".
  • Covered the enhancements at Castaway Cay, including floating island with slide, teen hide-out, longer tram & cabanas on family & adult beaches.
  • Ended with unveiling of atrium statue for the Dream: Admiral Donald Duck

I'm aiming for the May 3rd Alaska cruise. If not then the next one and still if not then the next one.....

It looks like we'll be going to Alaska as well. I don't know what date, it will probably be whatever date we can get a suite for. We're leaving on the Magic tomorrow, so we might look into booking a dummy date to transfer over to one of those cruises.

Hi All,

Its been a long time since I posted on this thread. Got caught up in the 2011 cruise announcements and thought I should said "Hello" to everyone here.

We are not sure yet if we can keep this cruise booking. Our oldest DS may have to take a summer course next year to get into the honors math program and of course, school comes before cruise :sad1::sad2:

Will have to see how thing progress.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll keep tabs on this thread.

Aloha,
Jen

Bon voyage everyone!!!! We're off on the Magic tomorrow to Tortola. I'll be checking in periodically while we're onboard. Hope everyone has a great week!!!!

Gydell, how's the outlook for tomorrow's game? MSU right? Hopefully we'll be okay for the next two weeks, we've got Florida International tomorrow and North Texas next week.

I've asked my TA to book me on the 3rd as well, plus the 5 day LA to Vancouver one! Just hope the prices are decent?

Emily - have a great trip! I guess we will see who really is the worst in the SEC tonight. I am a little more optimistic about the game tonight after last week but not putting any money on it.

I am going to try for July. I want to book at Cat 3 midship. But I will probably end up in a cat 6 because of sticker shock. LOL.

Hi all still on board for this!!!!

And have you seen all the new routes man!!!!!

Would like to do first Alaska...
:goodvibes

Good Morning Cruisers!

Hi Jen!

Emily - have a great trip!

We are also looking at the LA to Vancouver repo then the first Alaskan Cruise - we will be headed to Peru when we can book, so we will see if we can manage to get in a call to DVC.

Have a great day all!

Yep what Lynn said.

Peter like the signature cruise thingie... KEWL!!! and so true

Back from our trip to Disneyland Paris - still beautiful but so much busier than we'd expected in September (been deserted when we've been before at this time) and so much harder with a baby bump and toddler! Same old problems there with peoples bad manners and the service isn't a patch on what I remember at WDW so next time we'll be saving for Florida ..... after the cruise that is!! On a brighter/ weird note the french seem to treat pregnant women as almost disabled, which after a few hours in the park I almost was. So we had a special card that got us to the front of the breakfast queue (you have to book a slot normally as its so insanely busy) and also at some of the attractions some where to sit rather than standing in queues etc whilst you waited!

Off to study the dorling kindersley cruise book I've borrowed from the library this evening though, it covers lots of our ports and I want to get excited about the next trip already!

Hope you're all well :-)

We are trying for the May 31, 2011 Alaska.
The things that we have read say September is the best time to go with late May early June being second best.

Greetings everyone from the Disney Magic!!!! We're finishing up our first sea day with another tomorrow before we arrive at our first port of call, Tortola. We're really enjoying being back on the ship. Had dinner at Palo tonight and have brunch in the morning. There's definitely a lot of excitement onboard about the new itineraries. TTYL.

Since my daughter will be in middle school at the time, the only May date I could do is the 31st. No way to do September at all.
