Northern Sights and Mickey's MAGICal Delights-1st Baltic Cruise-June 12,2010-Pt 2

Looks like the little mermaid statue will be in China when we get there!
"1 April 2010 - Copenhagen sends The Little Mermaid on a journey to Shanghai for the World EXPO 2010. She will be gone for eight months."

I had seen there was a possibility that this would happen, but I was hoping it wouldn't. I'm really disappointed since that's one of the thing's you're supposed to see.

Hey all, sorry I have not posted in a very long time, but it has taken me months to get back as a "poster" and not just a lurker. Some issue with registration if you change your email. Anywhoooo

Look forward to trying to catch up. Hopefully I can get the synopsis. Have we started any bracelet/lanyard/FE lists yet? I'm sure we have, this crew has been o nthe ball since we booked the cruise!

Anyway, time is coming soon. Any airline suggestions from the States? we will fly out of Washington DC I believe.

Thanks guys!

PS, Just saw the Little Mermaid post. I am really upset! I have been talking about it to my girls as one of the things we get to do while we are over there. Damn!

That really sucks that the Little Mermaid isn't going to be there.... Oh well...

Welcome back Mom2... Looks like you have a lot of choices for a non-stop out of Dulles... British Airways, United, Continental, Virgin...... Premium Economy on Virgin is really good - and a lot cheaper than Business....

We're using USAirways out of Charlotte since I had miles....

I am back as well. Took for-ev-er catching up on posts since i have been gone so long. (I gave up trying to catch up on the previous thread and started with the new one. Yall talk too much :rotfl:)

I too am struggling with the price, but for now I am still going. Once I look at the air, hotel, tours, excursions, souvenirs - well, we shall see. I actually almost cancelled until I read the posts and got excited again.

Keep the tips coming. I am learning alot.

We have just come back from a week on the Wonder - had a great time!

I am also sad that the Little Mermaid will not be there! She is one thing I remember well from my last trip there - years and years ago!

Have a great day all!

While sitting here we were able to book our air for this trip, leave in May have a few days (10) to travel adn tour about before the cruises, start.

Heathrow is where we will be in and out of.

My father has traveled widely, including two around-the-world cruises. In all his travels, the only place he's been pickpocketed was in St Petersburg. Fortunately, his wife had a credit card that he was not carrying, so they were able to continue with their travels after cancelling all his cards. Based on that experience, DH and I now both carry Disney Visa cards, but we each carry a different second credit card - one of us has the MasterCard, the other carries the American Express card.

Our Christmas presents this year will be dominated by travel-related items. DH is getting (not a secret) a slashproof backpack. DD16 and I are getting handbags with slashproof straps. Many stores and online sites carry the Pacsafe brand, which has a wide range of offerings. I found that the best prices and free shipping on the items we wanted through our American Automobile Association (AAA) membership. Not easy to find from within the website's home page, but seems to work to add "/etravelstore" to the standard URL for AAA.

We all have Pacsafe backpacks. We love them! They have plenty of room and don't weigh much. We have the Pacsate Roamsafe.

Wonder cruisers - Do you have a favorite server on the Wonder? I have never been on the Wonder and am going with others that have never been on DCL so I want to make sure we have a GREAT server like ours that we get on the Magic everytime.

Thank you for the very timely tips! If anyone is in Orlando within the next few months, there's a luggage store at the Premium Outlets (on 535 near Disney) that carry a lot of good travel items,,,,,such as bra money wallets, waist wallets, security handbags, etc.

Good Morning Cruisers!

Yes, we had a great time. We had good servers on both cruises, Kerry Sean from Jamaica had been our server on another cruise, so it was great to see him again.

We got pacsafe messenger type bags and fanny packs for our trips - we got some from Amazon and some from Magellans. I never thought to try AAA, I guess I did not realize that they had a travel store.

Scott and I have separate credit card accounts, and that is handy on trips. One time in Grand Cayman, American Express decided not to honor Scott's card, but he had a Visa, and I had an American Express and a Visa, so trip went on as planned. Since then we have notified the credit card companies when we were leaving the country, although American Express said it was no longer necessary when we called before our cruise this time.

Now that we have gotten plane tickets, we can plan our pre-cruise travel.

Have a great day all!

Good Morning Cruisers!

Hope everyone survives the bad weather across the midwest - it is nice here, cooler than normal.

Gydell - We hope you get Kerry, he is a great server.

Have a great day all!

No post in the last couple of days......everyone must be busy! Football starts tomorrow for us (or the lack of it).

Football starts tomorrow for me with the release of the 1st AP poll of the season, but our first game isn't until the 5th vs. Virginia Tech. Can't wait!!!! Roll Tide Roll!!!!

Hey all, wow, down to single months now! Probably going to go faster than I realize!

If I want to request the server we had on our last cruise (Nov 2008) should we contact our person at MouseEars Travel, or can we do it ourselves? She was great. Her assistant wasn't as great, but we loved her!

Has DCL posed any of the excursions yet for our cruise? Or are you all just doing excursions on your own? I am VERY nervous about booking our own trips with 2 little children.

Any word of anyone being upgraded? If we were, we'd go from an outside to a verandah room. Just wondering if anyone has heard!

I think I asked before, but is there an FE plan yet?

See ya all real soon!
