Northern Lights

I saw them once about 23years ago. I was coming home from letting a neighbors dog out and saw these weird lights in the sky. I got home and made my Dad come out to see them, he was not too impressed so I went back in the house, got my dog and sat outside with her watching the night sky.

the next day at work I was telling everyone and they all thought I was crazy until my boss read in the newspaper what they were!!

We are going to try tonite. Wisconsin just cleared up it's haze and over cast skies. The skies are bright blue, but still hot out.

I saw them a few times and I live in central Wisconsin. Remember that old Christmas show with the snow mizer and heat mizer, "I'm Mr. Snow Mizer, I'm Mr. Snow". They had northern lites on that show and they actually look just like that. Lites dance straight down from the sky.

When we were in Marquette Michigan for student orientation for NMU, some how the predicted Northern Lites, and "call system" went out, and we went to the Superior Lake shore and saw colored Northern Lites. It was spectacular, a few years later, my dd bought me a picture that a local artist painted from Marquette and she totally captured what we witnessed that evening.

I'l take my camera along this evening and see if I can get some pictures.

Are you in Canada? Just curious. My DH and I saw what we thought were Northern Lights in NY State once. We thought they were anyway. My father also told me he saw them in upstate NY while camping. Curious if anyone below Canada has seen them in their state.

We see them quite often, too. :)

We're heading to the southern Lake Superior shore tomorrow. Hopefully, we'll see them there. :goodvibes

Yes - up here at the lake in the Adirondacks in NY - if the weather cooperates - LOL..

Nothing tonite.
I googled the info when we got home, and it said Thursday evening should be better. Wow are the mosquito's bad. We tried sitting outside while we ate ice cream and we had to run to our car. They were attacking the car windows.

Seeing the Northern Lights live in person is on my bucket list. I always thought you had to go to Alaska to see them. Is that the best place? It seems magical!

It really is magical. Being in the middle of Manitoba, I was able to see all the colors, very vividly and dancing like crazy. It's one of those things you'll never forget. Kinda like seeing the Grand Canyon at sunrise, or Yosemite National Park in the spring time. Nature can be absolutely breathtaking at times.
