Northern Europe/Baltic cruise with kids?

@o&smom We are booked on the 11-night cruise that does an over night in St. Petersburg, so we get two days there. We plan to do a full day private tour to go see Catherine's Palace and the Hermitage and I'm not sure what else yet, but I thought using the "shopping" excursion on our second day would get us the church and some shopping! You sell that evening tour pretty well though! Thanks for the info.

You can do both, just like us on your second day. It will still be a much more relaxing day than your first. Enjoy!

Has anyone done the Northern Europe Baltic itinerary with kids- especially kids under age 10? We are considering the 11 night Northern Europe/Baltic DCL 2018 cruise that visits Amsterdam, Berlin, Stockholm, Helsinki, Tallin, and St. Petersburg. Our kids will be 9,8, and 5. We've done the 11 night DCL Iceland/Norway cruise 2 years ago with kids and loved it but I'm wondering how younger kids enjoy the sights/excursions of Northern Europe (more museums, palaces, historical sights, etc) vs the more natural sights/excursions of our last Iceland/Norway cruise. I would love to visit these ports but wonder how other kids my kids ages have enjoyed/appreciated them?

If you have been, what were some of your kids favorite sights/excursions. Any input would be much appreciated!

I will be on that cruise sailing on July, 29th 2018. I also have 3 kids 10yo, 9yo and 1yo. Also interested in learning more about good activities to do. @Snyders22000: If we are both going to be on that cruise, are you interested in maybe sharing private tours on some of those places? Maybe we can have a larger van and share it.

We were on the May 28, 2017, 7 night Northern Europe cruise with our 6 year old and 4 year old and they loved it! In St. Petersburg, we did a private tour with Anastasia Travel. For the other cities, we just explored on our own. In both Tallinn and Helsinki, we followed Rick Steves’ self guided walking tours. In Stockholm, we followed the Rick Steves walking tour and visited the Nobel Museum which has a lot of hands on exhibits for kids. Our four-year-old loved Stockholm and declared that he wants to live there. :) Since we flew round-trip to and from Copenhagen, we had some extra time in that city. We went to Tivoli Gardens, the National Museum, and Rosenborg Castle. I highly recommend the National Museum since it has a really great children’s museum section that both of our kids still talk about.

Have you considered leaving the kids in the Oceaneers club? You’ll save on excursion money and everybody is doing what they want to do. Just tell the club CMs that you’re leaving on an excursion so they know to feed them.
